As a matter of fact, that scene is actually possible in real life; as long as the chute is big enough to hold the weight and the wind is not too strong. Besides, in past and modern warfare, armies even dropping tanks with chutes.

This scene blew my mind in the theatre. Yeah, yeah, the cars couldn't have been that close together, circular parachutes can't steer that precisely, and the whole thing is preposterous, but that's what made it so good! The Fast and Furious movies can't be matched for their ability to maks their audience want to suspend disbelief. The authentic reactions from the actors and the sound design really sell it as well.

Really can’t seem to go onto any “Fast and Furious” KZbin video anymore without everyone saying “They should join the Avengers”, “They survive with the power of family”, or “Remember when the characters would get injured?” I get that they seem to have taken a route where some physics might not make sense but at least it was a slow build up to it from 2001 to now. I’m not against people having opinions and admittedly I do miss some of the previous aspects of the older F&F movies but when everyone says basically the same comments over and over and over again, it gets old fast . . . and furious.
