We both kept to that to this day. Our children are now ~30. We had Christmases together and many other occasions such as birthdays etc as a family. I don't hate my ex wife and she does not hate me (actually we became closer friends afterward). Because we didn't work out does not make either of us bad people, and our failures are our own, and not our children's problems to bear.

She didn't want us to know the bad things he used to do and not to make us feel bad about who our father was. But memories come back. You piece things together. But I meet my father later on. He really is a terrible person, and a conman. He just decided he didn't want to be a father anymore (to be honest we were all better off without him). He gave my older half sibling's mother full custody of them (2) and our mother of us (4). I would love to say my father was a great person but he wasn't. Not everyone is. But I know most men love their kids and are good fathers. My grandfather(mothers father) was a great father, he went above and beyond for his kids. I am glad you and your kids have good parents, that yous are able to look beyond yourselves.

I do volunteer support work for boys who are in the criminal justice system and for the most part homeless and/or couch surfing bands who have a lot of psychological problems. One thing I am finding in common with all the boys that I have done this support work with is that they have had no father's in their life, and they all end up seeking that male yearning that they have inbuilt in them by joining 'lad' gangs and falling into criminal activities, which involves stealing cars, robberies and assaults, stampings, drug dealing and drug taking, alcohol and drug abuse, and all sorts of criminal activities. A big part of this also is because God and his commandments has been taken out of society ..... take out the fathers now also, and it's going to be even worse..... boys need a father in their life very much and every one of these kids that I have been working with is yearning for a father. Girls also need a father to teach them how to be respectful especially to themselves so that they don't become the placing of boys because they never had a father to love them. We here on the news all the time the problem with the juveniles in Queensland but truth is it is everywhere and the problem is going to get even worse and I can't believe these woke, left wing agenda people running our country, and many other Western Nations, can't see where they are taking Society and how bad, how much worse, it is going to get. God help us..... And Senator Hanson is right here when she says family law needs to be about the children. I have seen family law and even domestic violence laws weaponized by many countless females to get back at men that they are angry with and the police, judges and the system plays into their hands.... I do love it when Ms Hanson starts getting all emotional - while discussing public policy issues - and pretends to be an amateur psychologist, sociologist, historian, care worker and lawyer (and let's face it, politician?) It's even better when she's not expected to deal with those tricky secondary and tertiary follow-up questions! Or merely asked to bolster her points with facts, reason and evidence... (particularly when it might demonstrate a modicum of wider reading, on any given topic!) Maybe they sat these useful idiots together because they essentially represent two sides of the same coin (and their colleagues know it?) 😉
