From what I seen off of Matt's channel to fmrc I look like to me they need the gear down a bunch at the portal box and then put a different style transmission or gear down on the transmission also call because of how long the gear ratio is and I'm pretty sure can that the little white plugs are called a 2.0 pH

Right after I commented this, I didn't see it post. I thought my YT glitched out on me, so I did a quick research and came across that brass Reefs 99. Gawd, it's pricey, but I went for it, remembering what you said on the weight bias on the four corner scale. I figured why not on the pricey little rig, right? 😅 I am going to look into the others that you mentioned for future mini replacements/upgrades, as well. I saw you posting on the Furitek YT for this Lizard RXF if its possible to connect with the mt12, any update on that? Or is it possible to hook on another receiver. Because cant seem to see a plug to connect one. Because if you got a MT12 and need to go back to that little flysky its a bummer.... BTW: The Cayman V2 is a PRO. 😛

Unfortunately I don’t have an mt12. But if you can get it to bind to any of the Flysky rtr protocol receivers, it should bind to this. Basically the same protocol for the scx24 v2, the fcx24/18s, the cr18ps and the fx118. Even the new Redcat ascent 18 is the same protocol.

@@TheShopMiniRC In my understanding they use the "ANT" protocol and thats the protocol the MT12 cant bind to from flysky. So if there isnt a port on the esc, i guess its gonna be the standard transmitter for me (and others 🙂)

Wheels and tires are such a personal preference and what works for me in my terrain may not work for you. Most of the modern tires from reliable companies are pretty damn good nowadays. LGRP, dj crawler, proline, jconcepts.

Just a couple questions please. The transmission on mine is stamped Fcx24. Is it still an Scx24 transmission? And mine makes a creaking noise under load. Is that normal? And if so what causes it? I seen a couple other videos where it makes the same noise, so im assuming its normal. Thanks again

@@frankhunyady8984 the actual transmission housing and gears are scx24 spec. Part of that noise is the motor and sometimes it’s the all metal gears. All metal gear trucks are much louder than plastic.

I just said that let it need a gear down you can probably put that HP transmission his first one that's what we need we need some more gear down stuff to be able to increase torque I found one thing out with that HP transmission his first one that with several Motors that would get jitters with a standard scx24 transmission if you put it in that HP transmission it had so much more torque and did not get so clogged up

I am new to the game, but why are they calling this a 1/18 if the insides/chassis size, etc., is pretty much the same as the CAYMAN PRO SZK 1/24? Is purely based on the updated body?

Technically scale is based on the body... NOT the "physical size". 1/18 means that 18 of these trucks lined up next to a real one would be the same length. To be fair, the SZK is NOT a 1/24 (Not really even close) its more of a 1/18 anyway.

Welcome to the somewhat non-nonsensical scale labels of these small RC's! LOL! I've started calling 1/24th "SCX24 scale" as I prefer the smaller size of the SCX24's. The so-called 1/18th scale rigs seem to be a bit all over the place when you look at the rigs as a whole and compared next to each other. But "1/18th" does seem to be taking the cake these days. So if you don't mind a bigger rig, start there. But if, like me, you like the SCX24 scale size, there a ton of aftermarket parts. Great size for indoor course builds. More course driving in a smaller footprint. Buying RTR depends on if you want to ease into it and with not a lot of experience. Or, if you've got a bit more budget and know the limited performance of a stock SCX24 is going to frustrate you and you're good at figuring out mod'ing (tons of good YT vid's), then you're better building an SCX24 from the ground up. If you want really good crawling, you'll end up tossing most of the stock SCX out. IMO, it's a waste and annoying. I'll likely not buy another one as I can't support wasting stuff like that. But, if you want to start and then learn and upgrade as you go, RTR's are great. And with some of the companies coming out with rig's like this Cayman Pro and the Redcat Acsent 18 and EVO Pro, you get a good rig and not a pressing need to upgrade out of the box. Mmmh ! a lot of slag in the transmission + in the axles makes the up to downhill transition tricky. And the SCX24 transmission doesn't marry the bevel geared axles. This transmission is designed to drive worm gears, with a higher reduction. This kills the low speed the BL motor is capable of. For such a high price, it's a little disappointing.😟

These companies don't need to tell content creators what to say. The simple fact of the matter is that most YT channels will say good things, for obvious reasons, no need to spell it out. So that means that your suggestion that they told him what to say is not logical. What's the point then? Who knows if he is giving a good review for more free stuff. What i DO know, is that this guy gives among the most thorough reviews on YT, with among the most detailed tips'n'tricks on upgrading & modding. So what's it matter? You don't need to trust him on his overall opinion to simply benefit from his content. I'm not going to simply believe him on that, i don't give AF about that, i come for the excellent breakdown and tips without a bunch of the BS we get from other lame channels. But hey, you do you.
