Great job. I would use gloves when handling the housing. The metal can be very sharp.

Nice, I'd rather not do the project if I had to disconnect that many wires, but it is definitely a doable project w the right amount of patience. You make great tutorials.

You can purchase venetian blind dusters that would do a decent job of cleaning up the blades. There are even long cleaners for getting into the coils of fridges that would work. I don't recommend wire brushes because they leave scratches, and it is what dust particles will adhere to after a while.

Thank you for this video. I know have a much better understanding as to what is involved with removing, cleaning and reinstalling a blower fan. Would like to give this a try.

Great video. My electric furnace blower assembly was easier to remove while keeping wires attached except I had to unplug the main power wires. I just kept the assembly out of the furnace but right.aside so I did not have to disconnect the wires. I tried all the brushes except a tootbrush. I think its the only one that can work. Maybe a round small flexible brush could work well too. I was inside so I used the vacuum cleaner for most of the job and the blower at the very end. Use a good mask and protect your eyes! Easy job worthing it!

It's furnaces like that one that makes me somewhat happy I still have an old rheem furnace with no circuit boards. Only 3 wires connected to my fan and the thing slides right out with the removal of 2 screws. It may not be the most efficient furnace but everything on it is fairly simple to fix.

great videos, do u have a video on how to clean your blower if it is one that lays down up up in attic. It is a split system with the blower and electric furnace that lies horizontal in attic.

Straw cleaners also work extremely will for cleaning the blades. I just bend the tip and go to town one blade at a time. Kind of a tedious job but someone gotta do it to keep the heat running smoothly. Lol Probably a good idea to do this once a year at the beginning or end of the season. Unless you have heat and air, then you might wanna do it twice a year.

Great video, but how old is that blower? I've had mine for 22 years and it's still super clean. I do all my own maintenance and always use quality air filters. One thing I did do when I first got the house was to put a gasket on the door because it just sat flat against the side of the filter with no frame on the door side and clearly air could just leak around the side. I'm glad I did because my AC coils are also super clean. It only has a 1" filter and I'm going to put a better frame in with a 4" soon to allow for better airflow.

This looks kinda neat as a project for the winter months as I see you're wearing a hooded sweatshirt. Well I'm in Georgia in July...been problem shooting for 1.5 days just to find the fuse & change it, all for it to blow out the next day...yeah, nope. I'm contacting Angie's List for some hired professional help...lol nice video though! 👌🏾

Great video and presentation skills! Regarding "getting to it can be difficult", having both inducer PVC pipes in addition to circuit board in the way for ours was really annoying! What is your view on using garden hose (or pressure washer?) to remove tenacious gunk? I've seen articles mentioning this. Can it be done with careful masking and aiming, or is this just a bad idea even with sealed bearings?

Another video I saw cleaned theirs with a hose, but they only used the hose on the fan/fins after removing it from the motor and housing. In this video he mentioned how he could take it apart further but that it's usually not necessary. Cleaning with a hose looks a lot easier but taking it apart and putting it back together is way harder.

Yeah mine has a lot of wires makes it look kinda hard . I wonder if I can uae compressed air from my pancake compressor to blow it out ? My Ac not cooling and blower is weak not full power and two lines were froazen since yesterday . And after turning on for a few minutes it gets hot , I turned off since yesterday allowing those frozen lines to thaw out .

It's a good idea to lube the blower motor at the same time, as you pulled the thing out already.

Hm. I've actually heard and read before that you don't need to lube the blower fans. I imagine it wouldn't hurt though, as long as you used the right lube

I have a question... If there aren't any wires to worry about, why not pressure wash with the least powerful tip?

Really depends on the company. It is quite a bit of work so you could be anywhere from $200 to $400 ... maybe less maybe a little more. It would probably depend on your system's accessibility. If you're in the Utah market, message me and I'll help you set something up. If not, call around to a few and see if they will give you a price over the phone, a lot of companies won't give a price over the phone. Good luck my friend.
