Great job! Katie you said to start small. I have bedroom furniture that is shaker style, dark wood. Any suggestions as to how I can update the look...e.g., paints just tops, paint just drawers? Should I go light or dark. Too many pieces to paint all...armoire, end tables, bed & dresser. I thought I'd just start with accents, HELP lol

Hey! I am working on restoring my late grandfather's desk. I have a couple of questions. Can I use a wood polish before I apply the primer? And can you use polish on wood filler, since there are dents I need to cover up? Thanks, love the video!

Furniture polish would repel the primer and prevent it from sticking to the surface. That’s why we remove it by cleaning first.

How do I remove a piece that I painted with 3 coats of paint and the buildup of paint left areas of sticky paint on it that is not coming off with a sander. It gets hot and melts, but won’t come off

Hi Katie, every time I watch your videos, it reminds me why I love to paint furniture and such. Not only does the furniture become new, but I also feel renewed. I was raised to respect what we had, even when we had very little, and in so doing, everyone, for the last 3 generations, that I know of, are creators. Painters, tool & die makers, quilters, builders, gardeners, yarn artists, bakers, and so many more. We see a pile of scraps and discards as possibilities. I can't imagine life any other way. Hello from Alabama! As a beginner, I think my intimidation is the number of times one has to go back over with coats of paint. The artist in my wants to make the transformation in one coat and be done. But I'm learning that I have to be patient with the process, to do quality work for my customers. Wow. Gorgeous! I hate that mauvey color and still love it lol. The legs are to die for with their veins or whatever you call the carved vertical lines. The last one I watched was a terracotta and I'm not a fan of that color either and loved that piece too! Hi! I bought a jar of Melange Paints. This jar of paint is called ONE and it claims you do not need a primer or top coat. May I ask what is your thought about this? Should I go ahead and prime and top coat with your reccomendations anyway? I thought maybe if I took Melange Paints word that it is all I need it could keep my cost down-wouldn’t have to buy the recommended primer and top coat.

I bought paint paper for the floors but realized when I stand on it, it moves all over the place. But in using a towel or painters drop cloth do I have to wash it separately? If so that is using tons of water for one piece of fabric. Any idea if fabric with paint on it can be washed with other clothes?
