In this video I found 2 dressers on the Facebook Marketplace for free and decided they needed a makeover. I re-use all the original hardware, add new furniture legs, and paint and stain the piece.
I had a lot of fun refinishing these pieces, if you like the final result let me know in the comments below!
It is hard to believe this is my LAST video in this garage because I am moving across Canada, but that won't stop me from finding furniture in a new city and flipping it! Wish me luck and don't worry I will have more videos in the future!

What a find. Nice one. Great job at flipping them. For me I think I would have preferred all the hardware the same colour. Good luck with the move. Exciting times. Looking forward to seeing your flips from your new place.

I just left a discount furniture warehouse and they had their dressers going for $399 -$499 and nothing was nearly as nice as these! I think you have made yourself quite a bit because even if you lowball yourself and sell each piece for $399, that’s $800 before supplies so getting the dressers for free, you can/should make at least $700 profit! Oh, and going with the legs was great! They look amazing 😍👍

I personally would have kept the hardware all the same color, I prefer the brass, but I love the black and wood combo and they came out great!

Very nice, man. I could see those pieces work in all kinds of houses/flats. From a bachelor pad to an elegant dining room. I'm sure, those found a new owner pretty quickly. Good luck with the move. Been there, done that, it's EXHAUSTING.

Excellent video! You made adding the metal legs look easy enough I think I can do it. The black paint seems like a great choice and you did all the right things when using black paint. I’m scared of using a paint sprayer… but I want to one day. Hopefully you’ll share your new work space with your channel sooner than later! Be safe!

When you start up again, try boiling your hardware in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water, boil for 30 min then drop into cold water. This will cause metal to shrink back to normal and then you can rub varnish and paint off. Also use regular white toothpaste to buff your hardware out it works real good!!

Thanks for making this video. I have a question about spraying polyurethane. The polyurethane looked cloudy and some parts where you overlapped the polyurethane looked like it created a puddle. Did you do anything to fix it or did you leave it alone? Also, did you sand before you applied a second coat of polyurethane? The end result looks great!
@FurnitureFlippa
@FurnitureFlippa Жыл бұрын
The cloudiness disappears when it dries! And sometimes I will lightly sand sometimes I don't between coats. If I do, I use a high grit sanding sponge and just sand extremely light - no pressure, only enough to remove imperfections (dust, bumps, etc). Thanks for watching!

You seem to know what you are doing so I have a question. Why do you go from 100 grit sand paper to 240 grit? Do you not find that you need to gradually move up? I know everyone has their own method
@FurnitureFlippa
@FurnitureFlippa 2 жыл бұрын
Starting at a lower grit removes more finish at a time, helping you get through larger bumps, dings, and scratches. But 100 grit will leave the surface rough to touch and its also rough visibly. While 240 grit will make the surface smooth!
