@@wolffrdu6463 yeah, but in regards to protogens, if you don't have an OC done strictly by the rules, no one will take you seriously in the fandom. They'll basically treat you as if you stole someone else's character. The only time you can have a proto that doesn't follow the strict guidelines, is if you buy it through an adoptable.

@Eric Lane some custom species have design rules (protogens have very strict ones for example) and if a character breaks those rules it is considered an 'illegal' design. but since synths have no design rules, they can't have any legal/illegal designs. For the Protogen community it has become a bit of an issue where people are kinda toxic to other people who have an 'illegal' character. hope that help

@@grimreaper-ot8om i guess i can give more info... synths are often built to complete certain tasks and as such upgrade to complete their task eg: muscular farmhand, tooled limbs for engineer, avian head for flight kits and power supply can be different between synths like back mounted charger, internal bioreactor that is fueled by food, or even a thermal enviroment generator if the synth works in extreme heat environments

To be honest I might make myself one of these guys, they're honestly pretty damn cute, and the synthetic nature can always lead to interesting stories. I mean, I already have a synth as a character, but not one that just looks like a robot. It's usually just like "wow, look at this cute animal" *Oopsie daisy, his head fell off! I hope the nightmares aren't so bad!!*

I really enjoy this series -- I'd love to see more. Two specific recommendations, both of which have made a distinct impression on me. One, wemics (take centaur, replace horse with lion... I won't name dA usernames, but a liontaur is *not* a wemic!) -- for which probably the reigning authority is a fellow named Cayzle, Google him. Two, Bernard Doove's Chakats, which leave me awestruck both in how *insanely* well thought-out they are, and for the fact that he came up with the biology in the early 1990s -- *just* *before* the Internet! at least in the US, and he's in Downundahland -- and got almost all of it right on the first shot! ...BTW, does anyone know -- I've spoken with Bernard Doove himself, *he* doesn't know -- apparently the "handpaw" concept was something he more-or-less popularized with chakats, the idea actually *predates* them but he does not know the origin. Anyone out there know who originally came up with it? I'd be interested to find out.

Like if you want it to be your original piece of drawing from that species, you have to mention who created that sort of species which I think people would take that the wrong way thinking. It was never your original drawing from that species in the first place, rather you made it out of someone else’s drawing of that character.

I ended up making a Synth long before I made a Protogen... and my Protogen is just a species swap of my original synth character. I never ended up having an idea on how to picture the character in my head until I turned Artemis into a Proto... but this vid makes me want to go back and make a synth ref of Artemis as well.

Aw yeah! The underrated dragon/dinosaur things that are LITERALLY impossible to mess up! They’re sick! Also, unironically very huggable. I got two, one of which is a big tough guy. 8’4, bulging muscles, meant for work, but he’s just a huge softie and loves snuggles and small critters.

Ever since I found them I have made many Synth Characters but the whole reason I haven't really made a "Primary Sona" as I call it is because My personality is always on change so I want to make one that Changes just as Much as Myself, I think right now I'm in a stage I'll call "Alpha Beta" like, I'm AWARE of the general I'm gunning for but my personal Drawing skill is very limited so I've stuck to Templates but I do plan to Draw more until I can, Either way I do enjoy what I do That was a Long and unimportant rant that nobody will likely have interest in so Keep up the good work Beta!
