Thanks for the insite into your team and it's work As a bloke in his 1 car garage preparing his hill climb car for the 2025 season it's really inspiring!

Thanks Brad. when you get the time, could you explain the difference between the LSD diff and Axle assembly that Roland Dane and Paul Morris are talking about and the exesting Transaxle setup please.

Wow just about a throw away

The Supercars run what they call a spool diff, so it's a solid diff like a go kart, make it hard to turn in because both back wheels are doing the same speed so the car wants to push & to get the car to rotate they use the kerbs or brake bias to the rear but a LSD allows some slip between the rear wheels like a road car, reduces the push (understeer) & the car turns easier.

And the other difference between a SuperCars transaxle and a traditional LSD diff/axle assembly is that the transaxle contains the gearbox whereas with the traditional setup it's bolted to the back of the engine. Not sure if they were talking about ditching the gearbox part or not but I seem to remember in the early days of Gen3 it was going to be a traditional gearbox and rear diff setup.

The amount of work need to get it all aligned up again is mind boggling!

Yep! I'm surprised it's not a write-off, it seems bent through out.

Looks quite expensive Brad. There goes your pocket money for the week. Thanks for the video and thanks to Rachel for guiding the camera.

So essentially…..if a supercar goes into a wall…even at a lower speed but still hits relatively hard this is what has to be done in order for it to run again…..bravo to supercar teams when you start thinking about what they really do to keep these cars running and in peak condition weather it’s on or off track during a race or not….a lot goes on besides what we see in the pits….phenomenal work….it can’t be easy being apart of a pit crew or a supercar workshop team

It seems like there is not a lot of bar work in the middle of the front end, when you really look at it? No wonder there are rumours that whether the engine is installed or not affects the stiffness of these Gen 3 cars and (alleged) torsional issues with some of the engines, supposedly of no issue in the GT3 applications of the Ford or Toyota engine where they are (allegedly) "mounted properly".

Just like the new NASCAR chassis…. To ridged with the front and rear clip. Hope Supercars sees the mistakes NASCAR made and learns from it and softens it up!

Well this yrs 2025 season is taking a page from nascar with the championship being the top 3 or 5 drivers or something I haven’t watched how it will work yet but I’ve heard it’s going to be something that they have used in nascar……so I don’t think we will see any changes 😂 I enjoy Supercars the cars don’t really matter to me (Camaro, mustang, commodore, falcon…that whole argument) but if they start messing how the points system works for the championship that’s where it becomes boring for me bc it’s not just about a drivers skill anymore and who is the better driver….someone at the bottom of the leaderboard could walk away with the championship ya know? Like that’s pretty stupid really…..you lost the race cuz you fucked up that’s it……unfortunately we are heading abit of a bad direction I think

If it's too rigid, wouldn't it not bend (especially in the main cabin around the driver)? But this whole car is bent. Or you reckon the issue is with the way the front and rear crumple zones work (or don't work)? The old design with front and rear chassis rails was probably more proven IMO.

At what point does it just become a write-off? It seems like you are compromising the integrity of the structure by hacking and piecing it back together. Just curious.

It will be as good as new - there won't be any additional welds or cuts in the repaired chassis versus a brand new one.
