That looks like fun. I like porting and chamber work.

Very nice. Looks like a good gain. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Flatten the chamber by the exhaust valve like you did for the intake. According to David Vizard this will help exhaust scavenging.

I don't know why Dodge has an intake port layout like that. It makes no sense.

I agree, it’s a big restriction. It may have been a carryover from the Poly 318 that the LA was based on. That’s the same reason they have a poor lifter angle/geometry. We’re they in a rush ? Lazy? Who knows 🤷🏻♂️. It’s also the first area they attempted to correct in several factory race heads, by running an offset rocker and moving the pushrod out of the port. Surprisingly it doesn’t take much to make these heads flow 240-260cfm even with the horrible pinch.

@@ThirteenTwentyRepair I'm taking about the intake ports being pushed together like a SBC while having 4 bolts around each bore like a SBF. Ford used less bolts around each bore so they could have a better port layout. Chevy chose to use 5 bolts around each bore at the expense of the port layout but they keep the heads down better. Each setup has advantages and disadvantages. Dodge chose to go with both disadvantages. Atleast they have a cool shaft rocker setup.

Raising the intake floor... About 63 - 125 thousands , or equal to what you take off ? the sides and top..

I’m not sure I 100% understand what you are saying. If I raised the floor equal to what I removed then the effect would be no change in cross section which would lead to no increase in flow potential. Also the Magnums have an odd port design where the majority of the flow into the bowl is lower in the port.

What are you going to do about the gasket ? Grind that as well?
@ThirteenTwentyRepair10 ай бұрын
I may do some minor trimming, the gaskets are usually bigger than the actual port window on the head, and I’m not enlarging much of the port window here, more of the emphasis is on the pushrod pinch inside the port.
