I found the latest screenshots for Make Your Mark to be interesting, especially the one with Opaline. and honestly i think her coat color looks way better in the lighting for that particular image and i still can't wait to find out what her sotry is and what kinda of evil scheme she'll be planning, but worse case scenario it'll be the same as almost every other mlp villain scheme by that i mean she'll try to steall the magic for herself and try to takeover Equestria in the process. typical mlp villain protocal.

GM Berrow i responsible for the Netflix series and she knows everything about G4 and its details, So Good news is that should be a lot of connection and no inconsistency between generation, bad news is that she isn't a great writer like Larson or McCaarthy so a lot of stories are as interesting as the last special about Posey. We might never get interesting episodes like Return of Harmony or Twilight Kingdom which ean the brony fandom will never be ressurected with G5

It may be a misunderstanding. -> "Opaline" is the name of the owner/ruler of that "Dark" Castle. The "Shadowy Alicorn" may just be the "regent" currently sitting on the throne, but not her. Something similar happened with Princess Cadance: she was the "regent" in charge of the surviving population of the Crystal Empire [ who had lost Queen Amore, the legit ruler ]. -> The reason why the "Crystaling" was so important (back in Season 6), is because an alicorn princess BORN in the Crystal Empire [Flurry Heart] can become their official, legal, real "Queen" (something Cadance would never be).

I’m very interested to see what direction they will take, opaline looks a little better in these images then before but the saturation of the coat is just making my stomach grumble I get it the budget for the series won’t be as good but I would prefer blander coats then obnoxiously bright colours that are just complete eyesores hopefully this may improve if this new series is just as popular as G4 a really cool aspect I love about the pony characters is the hair styles it looks like opalines servant or magic helper as very unique hair and styled as 4C type hair that you may find more commonly on POC and you weren’t really able to show that as much or as in detail in G4 as it was 2D but with 3D it opens the door for designing and creating characters.

Random theory: Opaline is a successor from Twilight (not directly, like maybe and apprentice of an apprentice of an apprentice) and maybe since magic left, she feels cheated out of the destiny as the traditional sort of alicorn ruler? From the way the map looks, it looks like Opaline's castle is where Canterlot used to be. And according to the comics, it kinda seemed like she was the one who tried to stir up the arguments and such around ponies and other creatures. I'm really thinking she was the reason that Twilight got dethroned. Whether it was because the creatures of Equestria didn't want her to be princess or that Opaline beat her down into submission. It's possible she became an alicorn because she did a powerful spell or something. Who knows? I'm just making up theories at this point.

Opaline could be a callback to the Crystal Empire (Opal). Perhaps she wasn't a successor of Twilight but a successor of Flurry Heart? Imagine Flurry Heart has a kid, and that kid is born a unicorn instead of an alicorn. She gets resentful she wasn't born to the same power as her mother and works in the shadows to gain power with no one knowing her true nature, even becoming the unicorn Twilight gives the unicorn crystal to (see glass window). She eventually betrays them all, gains the power of an alicorn by tying the magic of ponykind to herself with the crystals, but the crystals end up reacting negatively to her misuse and ponykind loses their magic and her power is greatly diminished. Then she waits for the ponies to regain their magic as she finds ways of getting around what originally cut her magic off.

well, there's a lot of speculation that Opaline is the reason that the three clans of earth ponies, pegasai's and unicorns lost the unification they once had, by deceiving them possibly, and is seeking to create a "perfect" Equestria by her own image.

I’m exited to see what they’ll come up with! I think this new story has a lot of potential, and who knows, maybe this dark alicorn could be sorta like chrysalis I’m the fact that she may have a kingdom to protect? Maybe perhaps this is the last of twilight’s reign gone wrong? Maybe the alicorn thinks that they’ve wronged twilight, and that she needs to “fix” everybody. My guess from the picture of the castle on the map is that this is one of the old sets to g4, my guess being the canterlot castle based on its shape. Perhaps the g5 area is in a previously less populated area of g4, and the rest was covered by the everfree? Also this might disprove the theory that alicorns are simply a combination of the magic from all three pony tribes, since magic was gone this would mean that Opaline would would detransform?

Although I thought it was supposed to be a new series that is coming in September but I'll be happy anyway. I don't know if anyone else has noticed yet but to me it looks like Opaline's dark castle is Canterlot, Bridlewood may be Hollow Shades, Zephyr Heights is Neighagra Falls , and Maretime Bay is either PonyVille or more like based on placement a new settlement altogether (all are based off placement I just mean PonyVille was to the other side of Canterlot), the other woods that Maretime Bay and Bridlewood is connected to could be the woods that were by Baltimare.

I just keep hoping for solid plots for both the overall stories and characters. I really think this is what will make or break the upcoming series. If they don't fully flesh out each character or try to oversimplify situations, the fandom will be much less pleased than in the case of animation errors. I think Hitch and Pipp are particularly overdue for some individual character development. It feels like those two were pushed to the side in the make your mark special.

My initial thoughts On this New character “Opaline” is that she somehow managed to cause so much trouble during Twilight’s reign of Equestria that She (Twilight) came up with the “Magic Crystals” that contained the essence of Each Pony races (ie Earth, Pegasi, and Unicorn). That’s what is being setup in the MLP comics maybe, but who knows it could have absolutely nothing to do with it at all. I like the idea of another character joining the main cast (ie Starlight Glimmer & Sunset Shimmer). As far as group dynamics go There are 2 Earth Ponies, 2 Pegasi, and 1 Unicorn. Having another Unicorn join makes sense to me. Then it goes from a group of 5 to a group of 6 which should make fans of G4 happy because people had their favorites overall so the same could be done for G5 to balance things out. Just had a thought as I was drawing: What if the thing Opaline wants back is the alicorn magic all to herself? I’m theorizing that Opaline wanted all that magical power that Equestria had, but due to Twilight sealing it in those Crystals she no longer had access to that power. Until Sunny reactivated it. Now we don’t know with certainty that the alicorn back then WAS/is Opaline starting to create rifts between the 3 types of ponies. Regardless of people speculating that it was her.

Those vines remind me of the princess twilight episode at the start of season 4 I think. They had vines like that snatching ponies and stuff. Also, I think the unicorn's name is Misty and she's gonna be on the bad side then join the mane 5. Typical. What I think she's doing now is helping Evil A (Opaline) by trying to act nice to find information and stuff but she's gonna realize that what she's doing is wrong. Also, I think that the flower Evil A's (Opaline) holding has something to do with the vines that appeared.
