They heavily imply this is the Magnamalo that tormented Kamura 50 years ago, hence why all the old men of Kamura get "visibly upset" with Scorned showing up. All the souls he's consumed are *so mad* at Magnamalo for ruthlessly killing them, but Scorned here just channels all that collective rage into devastating power. Spite and a lust for gruesome revenge... inside and out! Magnamalo was a ghostly warrior. Scorned Magna is a demon lord. Like, good gog, his armor may not be quite my set of skills, but it *looks* so properly anime villain. I love it.

Since alot of people don't seem to know, Rise Apexs were caused by Monsters managing to Survive Ibushis storms and subsequently being accidentally infused with the Dragon element present within the winds. They're essentially just tempered monsters but with a spicy dragon retexture instead of shiny

Nah they for sure aren’t tempered monsters. Tempered monsters have literally the same move set and hp just more attack. The apex’s in rise (although ripping off the deviants attacks) are vastly different in terms of power and completely new moves. Not comparable.

I'm sure they've figured this out by now, but I'll mention it anyway. Scorned Magnamalo does in fact do the red beam when fighting hunters. It's basically two straight purple beams, then one sweeping red beam. I thought it was interesting how you guys didn't get to see it. The first one I fought did it twice, the second one, once. Maybe it had something to do with me taking much longer to kill it offline then if I was with friends.

If this is the same Magnamalo that Hamon faced, then I have an explanation for the blade arms and their shape. If we asume Hamon used a Long Sword (since he always is sharpening one), then this Magnamalo essentially evolved sword breakers xD The shape of those blade arms is really similar to historical sword-breakers (also known as parrying daggers), which where blades with notches made to capture and destroy enemy blades.

More so than any Frontier monster I've faced, more than any other flagship, including my first favorite monster Stygian Zinogre. Fairies is a modern name for the Fae or "Fair Folk" in old British mythology. Generally all sprites, ghost, ghouls etc can be called a fairy, but it mainly sticks to the smaller In statue, "helps you in a way you don't want it to", way. The name Fair folk doesn't come fro them being nice, but for the supernatural equivalent of "an eye for an eye". Succubi and Incubi are german demons and forms of Nachtalb (sometimes Nachtalp, but the p was an error that kept happening and is now ok-ish). They were spirits that haunt you in your sleep and drain your life away. Just imagine having a nightmare and you breath heavily, are stressed out and you suddenly woke up. That was a Nachtalb sitting on your chest causing you to suffer and you just woke up in time. A Succubus or Incubus is basically just the sweet but still dangerous variant of the Nachtalbs, giving you sweet, pleasant and lewd dreams instead of nightmares. Speaking of nightmares, another name for Nachtalb was "Nachtmahr" which is a Nachtalb on horseback and the common root of the word "nightmare" (night + mare as in female horse). They are all over nordic mythology and for the clarification of being german spirits, there was a royal decree to collect knowledge about spirits in France and some german scholars showed up and they discussed it in detail, now we have batwing, mommy milking demons and the others.

@@geminine970 Alternatively, as I figured from the moment I found out he uses dragon element, he’s essentially an Apex Magnamalo. Apexes are monsters that have been caught in Ibushi’s windstorms and were wounded and traumatized by the experience, but also apparently infused with dragon element, as evidenced by the glowing red scars covering their bodies. Scorned appears to have similar scars on his body. There’s also the fact that he is implied to be the very Magnamalo that was repelled by Fugen and crew in the Rampage relic records. It seems only fitting then that such an old individual with such a history would appear again as an Apex. Also, consider what Deviants are-individual monsters that have gone through some unique experience which changed them into what they are now-and that Apexes tend to be visually similar to them and possess many of their moves. Again, only fitting.

Fun fact: in latin, succubus and incubus don't actually denote gender. The latin basically translates to "lying underneath of" for succubus and "lying atop of" for incubus (which has the same root as the word incubate). Scorned Magnamalo always seems to die very abruptly with every hunt I've had with him, leading my to think of three possibilities. 1: he is a glass cannon monster, 2: he will hardly ever show that he is tired during his fights making it feel like he's never close to death, or 3: he possibly drains his health throughout the fight which means he'll die much faster than what reasonably feels correct. For being the MR 100 monster and the original final challenge of base sunbreak, his fight always seems to be over way too fast.

I think the reason you keep "missing out" on moves is because of how much damage you do when the the monster is stunned, sleeping, paralyzed and how often you inflict said statuses because in my hunt he went "red mode" as more or less an equivalent to regular magna's full hellfire mode

My main issues with magnas design is the torso or the back shell on him, it’s a bit too wide for me. The original concept art of him was sleeker and more tiger like and I wish they’d stuck with it, that would’ve made it more believable for me to see him using hellfire in the air, he seems to heavy for it. My other issues are the extra spiky bits on the back, forelimbs & mouth like a sabertooth they’re excessive for my taste, that’s just my thoughts on it, he just needs more simplification.

Genuinely cannot wait for the laast Title Update (hopefully) giving us Afflicted Scorned Magnamalo, that's gonna be such a ginormous pain and I am so here for it. I mean, even now, after Update 1, Scorned is *still* the hardest or second-hardest fight in the game alongside Valstrax, I can only imagine what the souped-up, bloodied-up version is going to feel like.

I like how they were talking about variants in the game at the end and saying only 1 of 3 after they posted a video on seething baezl being in the game now. He's just in the corner like " OH really, u forgot about me already in like what, 5 videos?" Seething is also a variant guys, come on now

I just wanna point out, Scorned Magnamalo had to power up to handle a basic zinogre. He also comes to a draw with Malzeno, an eight star threat level monster, in their turf war. And we're suppose to believe 'ol Scorny is a ten star threat level lol

I imagine he just wanted to get zinogre out of the way ASAP cause he was being a nuisance. Plus Zinogre is no push over, he’s a 7 star threat. And Malzeno managed to keep Gaismagorm at bay. I think he’s very much worthy of a 10 star threat level, or at least 9.

You commented about burning through multiple potions before even fighting the monster just due to deriliction. Since deriliction just turns your lost health red, you could just pop a gourmet fish before the monster, it restores all red health. Similar to the astera jerky from world, except it doesnt heal bleed

Scorned Magnamalo works like Gore Magala. he has 2 enrage modes. Regular Hellfire and (i dubbed it) Scorned Hellfire. If you deal enough damage to him you force him out of his regular Hellfire Mode so you can do the entire Hunt without seeing his Scorned Hellfire Mode (where he has 3 new Attacks).
