what I do not understand is why you chose to reverse #2. Please help

in the overall reaction, N2O is in the reactants. in the #2 equation, N2O is in the products side. you "flip" it over so both are on the reactants side,

Can you please explain why you canceled the half on the first equation and then added a half onto the second equation when you were adding the two equations together?
@manuelaekotto37584 жыл бұрын
Because he cancelled out reactants that were on opposites sides. As he did with N2 he manages to cancel it completely. But with O2 there was only half on the other side, therefore he could only cancel out half the oxygen to have the net reaction.

Can you explain the term "Intermediate". it wasn't clear to me what made it intermediate ? The N2 ?
@Cafe_TTV8 жыл бұрын
it's not in the final product. thus it's an intermediate, which only exists during one of the reaction steps

At 1565 k we have these equilibrium constants : 2Co2 < ---- > 2Co + o2 K1=1.6*10-11 2H2o < --- > 2 H2 + O2 K2=1.3*10-10 Co2 + H2 < --- > Co + H2O K3 = ?
