@ProductDesignOnline
@ProductDesignOnline 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Saeed. I would expect that to be more automated soon...but the easiest way to do that now is to create a new sketch and then use the Project command to project all the edges to the current sketch. That makes everything available in one sketch, where you can then export it as a DXF (right-click on sketch in Browser > Save as DXF).

Hi Monte, there are two ways to export/output dxf for the arranged results: 1. While in the Edit Manufacturing Model environment, project the boundaries of arranged objects onto a sketch and then export the sketch as a dxf OR 2. Create a setup and toolpath operation for the arranged objects. Please make sure the sideways compensation is set to "Center" (for 2D Profile) or "Off" (for 2D Contour). Then you can PostProcess the toolpath by selecting one of the available DXF posts from the fusion post library. In the post dialog, you can set 'onlyCutting' = "YES" to get rid of the linking motion. And you can set 'includeDrill' = "NO" to avoid points at the drilling positions. To download and install the dxf post on your computer, please visit - "cam.autodesk.com/hsmposts?"

I'm not sure if this is still possible using the most up to date software version, on a personal, non-commercial license. I tried looking up nesting in their help menu, it looks like that feature is put under an extension which is of course behind a paywall. Unless I am missing something obvious, is this still possible? I'd like to use this with my plasma table. Thanks!

I will go try and find out information on these methods. But, if you have a few more minutes and are willing to provide a little more help I would appreciate it, even if you don't thank you for what you did provide. I have to admit that I must not be proficient enough yet to figure out how to accomplish what you gave me instructions to do. I know how to project in the Design Mode but never worked in the manufacturing mode until following this video's guidance. So not sure how to export just the sketch in Edit Manufacturing environment. @@robsandstrom9854 you're very welcome. Glad to help. Here are some good resources for Fusion 360 in general: 1. Learning Content - academy.autodesk.com/software/fusion-360 (you can find info about other Autodesk products as well) - Regarding Setup, Toolpath and NC creation - Go to the Intermediate Tab and refer to "43. Setup", "46. 2D Toolpath", and "49. Post NC File". You can also check out "43. 2D Cutting" on Advanced tab. - Projection of faces onto a sketch works the same way in "Design" and "Edit Manufacturing Model" Environments. @@klm8156 If you haven't found it yet, you have go to the SETUP dropdown (located directly below Milling at the top) and then Create Manufacturing Model. Other thing I found out, it only works on components. So if you have a bunch of bodies under a component, you will only be able to select one body, and it'll move the entire assembly without laying it out So every body needs to be turned into a component, which is kind of a pain.

Hi Kevin, do you know if your tutorial still applies to the latest version (2.0.9009)? I have the same problem as @vinay dhondiyal - can't find the Arrange feature, and I can't create a manufacturing model. Has Autodesk removed this functionality for the hobbyist license do you know?
@ProductDesignOnline

It should still be available for the hobbyists license. did you enable it under your preferences and the preview options?

I dont have a CNC but this would be nice for cutting my parts from plywood. How can I get dimension on the sheets?
@ProductDesignOnline
@ProductDesignOnline 8 ай бұрын
Sry, I'm not following your question. Do you want to transfer dimensions manually onto your plywood? Or looking to layout the dimensions digitally (i.e. 2D Drawing)?

@@ProductDesignOnline Sorry. Say I have a cabinet I have designed and I use the auto arrange tool to arrange it all on a sheet of plywood. I don't have a CNC that will be cutting the material, I will be breaking it down myself. Is there a way for it to auto-generate dimensions on the layout so I can print it out and follow it like a set of plans?
@ProductDesignOnline
@ProductDesignOnline 8 ай бұрын
@@rutgis77 thanks for clarifying! Not in the Design workspace, unfortunately. However, the Drawing workspace has a new Automated Drawings feature that can do what you describe (it may not be available on the free Personal use license... I'd have to double check). You can also place the sheet and manually add specific dimensions of you don't want them all for some reason.

NEST.... Looking forward to the NEST space.. I've been playing with the arrange and having some difficulties when placing parts onto multiple sketches (I have some flat furniture which takes multiple sheets and like to to the CAM set ups next to each other). So far I've still been moving the parts manually to position after arranging them onto a plane.

Nest - I would like to request a feature. I design wood projects for the Shaper Origin and have been using the Shaper Tool available in the Design environment. This tool is not available in Manufacturing. I would either like to have Arrange available in the Design environment or the Tool tab available in the Manufacturing environment. The first option would be most desirable. Thanks for a showing us the great feature.

Once you arrange everything, can you export as EPS to send out to a cnc shop for them to cut? I don't know which machine they will use, they just asked me to have it arranged inside a specific area with spacing. Also, once you've arranged can you get a sketch version?
@ProductDesignOnline
@ProductDesignOnline 4 жыл бұрын
You can save as a DXF file but would have to convert the DXF to EPS in another program. Fusion doesn't work with EPS, as those are vector files.

Since Arrange is disabled in the Personal License, what is the best practice currently for Personal users to move the stool's components into a flat stock for Manufacturing?

If you plan on doing it a lot then this addin is worth the 1 time cost: apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=3399489440307590024&appLang=en&os=Win64 Otherwise, you can use the Align command or Joints depending on how many parts you have/whether you want to be precise about the placement.

After creating your Manufacture Model you can copy/paste them in the Browser. Just make sure you enable the Manufacture Model preview and go that route as that will ensure you don't affect the original design models in the Design workspace.

Great feature! I think I ran into a snag... when you create a manufacturing model it seems to be a snapshot in time. When I do a bunch of alterations (arrange parts and create tool paths) I notice that the manufacturing models don't update when changes are made in the design model. Did I miss something? I cannot find an "update out of date models" of sorts in the manufacturing environment...!!! Help!

I was just playing with this on a design I was working on today. Seems something is different with sheet metal flat patterns I can't get them to work. Was anxious to try the "in-process stock" function.

And what’s about to arrange a biger project on multiple sheets? For instance to see how can I arrange all the components in best way without do it manually? That will very helpful for all woodworkers I guess 😉
