You make this so easy to understand. I’ve watched a handful of videos and was so confused until I watched yours.

Thank you for such an excellent and clear video on this topic . One of the most frustrating things about trying to learn Fusion 360 is the constantly changing user interface . Following your tutorial step by step I could not ( as of December 2022 ) find the " Advanced arrange" box it is not there and subsequently my version of 360 does not behave like yours does in the video . I'm not sure what the best way to learn the nuances is when Autodesk keeps changing the interface and invalidating so many excellent videos that are more than 6 months old

For my usage (3D printing), the Add-In "3D Print Plus" can do a similar job for me (getting a model to lay flat). Just choose custom orientation, select the axis you want and click OK to save the .stl And it's free :)

@@WhatMakeArt After learning how to do it the hard way from your "Arrange Panels Flat" video, and then finding out about the MapBoards add-in, I thought there must be someting else out there. So thank you and @Svein-Inge Kallevik. This has been frustrating me for far too long :)

Yes, but you can still use the planer joint method that I show in other videos, it works pretty well

Love your videos. Looks like this feature was just removed for the free personal version with the latest update. I was just starting to use it, and then it forced an update and it went away.
@WhatMakeArt5 ай бұрын
This is another way to do it without the arrange tool, this is how I did it before the tool existed, it's a little bit more cumbersome but still allows to modify the model after it is flat kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJS9q6ZqoZ6Eo7c

@@WhatMakeArt thank you! I have been using 360 for personal 3D prints, and have recently been working on a project for some card game storage for my shelf since I have access to laser cutters at my work. Your videos have been incredibly helpful, was just watching and starting to use some of these tips getting the files prepped, and then Fusion forced an update and they went away, haha. Oh well. Thank you again for the link to this video!

Hi. I follows in you but I found something in menu ARRANGE 1. Orient, Rotate & Grain 2. Quantity, Priority & Filter is advanced arrange feature start trial in 14 days. what different from standard menu? thank you
@WhatMakeArt4 ай бұрын
If you have advanced Arrange then you can use multiple envelopes for your pieces and Fusion will lay them all out on the two pieces. You can also control how Fusion rotates different parts if some need to be rotated a certain way on a material
@VeebsRK9 ай бұрын
Heads up even when you can find it, arrange has now been taken away as an option unless you pay. Dont see anyone noting this when I search for how to arrange on fusion 360
@WhatMakeArt9 ай бұрын
Yes, sometimes fusion 360 pulls back features that were once free, here is another method of laying pieces flat with joints for manufacturing, it is a bit more time consuming, but it's quite flexible if you make a copy of your model and then it also automatically updates with changes to the previous components kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJS9q6ZqoZ6Eo7c
@travishandl8802 жыл бұрын
In your original model, are you using joints to create your assembly? I have tried advanced arrange and sometimes I get an error message, and my joints turn red in color
@WhatMakeArt2 жыл бұрын
For this model, no joints were used, just projection from previous components to align things I used to use joints to lay parts flat for manufacturer I also find it's better to click each face individually rather than let fusion decide which face should be down or up Everything needs to be in its own separate component at the same level for arrange

Is it possible to do it in reverse? If you have flat parts and you want to visualize the 3d in fusion?
@WhatMakeArt9 ай бұрын
I don't think so, unless you had the parts as components and assembled everything with joints

Can i export the flat items to DXF for my laser?
@WhatMakeArt6 ай бұрын
Yes, you can export a DXF file for laser cutting from fusion 360, here is a video showing how kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHupeYCMbKZsirc

Is possible to export just the manufactured model to auto cad?
@WhatMakeArt2 жыл бұрын
Fusion 360 supports all kinds of file exports and formats. You can export a format compatible with AutoCAD and download it from Fusion online.

Arrange was not available in the manufacture environment for me! I found a preview feature in preferences that disabled Arrange in the Manufacturing workspace. The feature was called "Automated Arrange". Make sure to disable this feature if you want to follow this workflow in the video. Now I need to delve into automated arrange to see if it is a better workflow...
