Your videos are 100% my goto now, they are so informative, and your teaching is so clear, it really helps my understanding of F360 cad/cam. Thank you so much for the time you put into these Kevin, it’s really appreciated sir.

Interested to see the results. I have gotten some faster adaptives on my tormach through selective use of the both ways option. The axis acceleration is so slow that it comes nowhere near rapid speed in a small slot, so just cutting back the other way ends up saving time. On a large part, especially one that is removing material primarily outside the part I find it faster to go climb only. It also sounds a lot better. :). Can’t wait to see that test.

Looking forward to the test results. Appreciate the tips! I’ve learned a bunch about Fusion and machining from watching your videos. Thank you for making them!

Climbing and convention, it doesn't work well when using big diameter tools I don't know why

I think both ways is only available to rough out quickly but definitely climb on the finish for a cleaner cut? Any one know if we have an option to mirror or even rotate an operation?

Hi Paul. Adaptive clearing should only be used for roughing and not finishing. Sometimes I’m ok finishing down to the floor if the floor isn’t a very important surface. The next time you run an adaptive operation, stop the machine and feel the surface especially around arcs. You will feel a faceted toolpath and the finish won’t be nice. I always do a secondary operation to clean the walls, and usually the floors as well.

Is no engagement feedrate the same or different from rapid speed? I’d always assumed it was rapids even though it’s called feedrate.😂

It’s cutting feed rate. Some controls won’t let you run the program if that value is higher than maximum cutting feed rate. Some controls don’t care and you can put as big of a number as you want in there.
