If you look closely at the picture in the reddit post, there are ridge lines internally also. I made a decision to not do these as I think that the shelling would be quite problematic. One possible way to do them would be to perform the shell after the external ridge lines are done. The ridges on the outside would most likely need to have a certain width in order for the shelling to work. Something for you to try.......

Thank you very much for this clear explanation on how to make the ridges. I have been following the original designer for a while and he does not reveal much about how he works. Regarding the internal ridges on the Reddit photo, I don't think they exist in the CAD model. And I doubt that he shelled the object. His 3D prints are all in vase mode and that requires a solid object rather than a shell. The internal ridges are a feature of the slicer rather than the model.

Regards to how much to move the spheres, If you want the centers of the spheres to lay on a equilateral triangle/hexagon grid, the following formulas should work: l

I just did this along with you.. TOP NOTCH lesson!!! I cut the top and bottom off the vase so it may print a bit better (sealed bottom after the cut with project in sketch).

I really like this video, well in fact I like all of your videos. In my many years of using Fusion 360, I have not come close to discovering the features you present. Thanks, and great work! Greg

Loved it 🥰 might modify it to be a “beer coolie” and hold/freeze water in the bubbles (closed on inside with small air escape holes at top)

Hello, for the even distribution of the wheels, I use the following formula for the vertical shift: ( sqrt(( ( ( sin(15 deg) * 65*2 ) ^ 2 ) ) - ( ( 0.5 * sin(15 deg) * 65*2) ^ 2 ) + ( 65 - sqrt(65 ^ 2 - 0.5 * ( sin(15 deg) * 65*2 ) ^ 2) ) ^ 2)

Would love to see your take on a softbait model. Alot of people are using mesh for that, but im pretty sure a surface model would look alot better. But never figured out a good way of doing lure like that with surfaces.

One question about the last step. If you wanted the ridges to be rounded not squared off like a gear. would you fillet the cut before rotating it? Or would you approach it differently with replace face? Thanks.

I would like to ask how to do or what options should be selected so that I can do the offset face but inside ??I mean that these stripes should also be inside :)

Nice! Couldn't emboss have worked for the pattern?

I don't think emboss works on surfaces that have complex curvature. You could recreate this and find out though.

Responding to my own question; emboss only works on faces - this shape contains soo many faces. I'm not even able to select the outward facing faces.

I really want to model my wedding band, but it has a hammered texture all the way around it and I don’t know how to get a good hammered texture in fusion or any of the other modeling programs. Could you do a video on that?
@supergiantbubbles
@supergiantbubbles 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think Fusion 360 is the correct software for that. Hammered jewelry has a randomness to the pattern that doesn't lend itself to surface features like that. I'd use 3D Coat to create a hammered texture on a jewelry design myself, but Blender or Zbrush would also be good options. Modeling the ring in Fusion and adding the hammered texture in a different software is the way to go.

I am having issues with the ribs. I am following a video from the originator of these Blob Vases (kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYbdnqSwdsl4mbM) I am doing a thin wall cut from top down, The originator says he does 200 cuts. Fusion doesn't seem able to handle more than 20-30. I was using ADJUST not Identical for the circular pattern.It may be interesting for you to look at the other video. Many things you show here are the same but a few are approached differently. I'm wondering if I should just cut the vase into a 15 degree slice, apply the cuts, then pattern the result to make 360 degrees?
