Fusion 360 - Embossed Text on Sphere Part II

Following the release of the previous video where we talked about creating embossed text features on a sphere, I got a very interesting suggestion from NorMaker on how to improve upon the method. In this video, we would be going through the improved workflow.

In this video, I am using the press/pull command even though I have been critical of this command in the past. There is a good reason for this. In this workflow, the offset command (under surface tab) is being used to create an offset surface. If I use the offset face command instead of the press/pull command, this might cause confusion among some viewers.

Great improvement to the cheated workflow! However it's not perfect as letter thickness towards the top & bottom is still stretched, hopefully Autodesk will add multi-curvature support for the emboss command. Nice videos, clear speech and perfect pace, i'll stick around :)

Yes, it is not a true wrap from top to bottom. We will just have to hope for a better emboss tool in the future. Thank you for the support.

I found another way to deboss a sphere. Start with an offset plane and create text on that plane. 2. ectrude text through the ball surface. 3. Split the text body elements with the ball surface. 4. remove the text bodies inside the ball. 5. move the remaining portion of the text bodies into the ball the to the desired depth and use the combine bodies in "cut" mode to deboss the ball.

Hi, i tried this but i get the next error message... An existing fillet or chamfer could not be deleted. Try suppressing or deleting existing fillets/chamfers before attempting the operation. This happens when i try to do the offset face function Is there anything i can do about that??
