Is there any way to sketch _without_ constraints being added until you assign them? I find I use most of my time tracking down and deleting constraints that Fusion has decided I'd like. Lines become fixed to other lines, moving a circle drags half the drawing around, etc. I'd love to be able to just sketch without constraints and then go back in once I'm sure of the design intent... Can I delete only constraints within a selected boundary for instance..?

I'm impressed you don't waste time with snaps/grids just like a SW user. In fact, you might want to show all the newbies how to "shut off/hide" those features and clutters. Most tutorials waste many minutes explaining how to use /setup snaps and grids. Totally useless if you are a serious designer who will be dimensioning/specifying "everything".

Good review but you did not explain how to undo constraints
@P8qzxnxfP85xZ2H3wDRV6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, undoing constraints is a real pain, because it's really hard to find the right constraint. Unfortunately there's no constraint explorer that would show you all constraints (with description) when nothing is selected and show you the narrowed down list of constraints when you select something.
@arkain1016 жыл бұрын
Can't you just highlight each of the sketch lines/objects one at a time that you want to remove the constraints from and copy and paste those geometries back into the sketch grid/plane and then you have the same geometry sketch object without the constraint.

Join the 2 ends with a curve and you have a 90 degree corner with curved ends - great. Increase the offset and the curves increase to match - great. BUT - decrease the offset to 5mm and the curves disappear and/or break. Tried it with 2 point circle and trim - same thing, they break. How can I drive these end curves to work with the offset without having to reference the offset formula? Thanks

I'm not sure if this is a constraint. For some reason after a certain period of time, the sketch becomes locked and I can't delete anything at all. I can add just fine, but can't do ANYTHING to the modify current sketch, extremely frustrating (fist through monitor level frustration) I just put a ticket in with AutoDesk this AM, I can't deal with this anymore. It's been so bad that I have to start all over with a sketch because the previous is locked. I get no warnings or explanations, drawing has a slight flash as if it's trying to delete but the problem remains.

Question. I'm brand new to Fusion 360 and I'm doing it the exact same way you are in the video collinear but when I click on my square then my line the line is what moves every time. I don't get it. I should be able to select what I want to move, not have fusion just pick what ever it wants. Also on the coincidence my circle will not move to the position selected on the line it just moves straight up above (inline with the line) but i have to move the line to meet the circle. I'm literally copying your moves and getting completely different results. What am I doing wrong? UPDATE: I didn't realize that you fixed and locked the green lines. Now that I did exactly what you did I can't get my box to collinear with a fixed line. Error: Failed to solve. Please try revising... etc
@adskFusion5 жыл бұрын
I believe the first selection moves to the second when adding constraints. And the reason you may be seeing different results is that the UI has changed significantly since this was published.
@carpanimachine18755 жыл бұрын
@@adskFusion I wondered if that was a change to the UI. Kind of a dumb change. The way it worked here in this video is how it should work intuitively. Not like it is now. These videos are by far the best. Other ones I've seen have how people use it but not how all the parts of fusion work. Best by far.
