@@adskFusion Insanely well done video - I really miss finding something like this that deals with assemblies. We keep going back to Alibre Design because we cannot get imported assemblies to work properly, and continue modelling in Fusion without getting stuck with some feature that we cannot get placed right.

How does one determine which entity moves and which remains in its original co-ordinate position? For example, if one makes a line tangent to a circle, sometimes the line moves, sometimes the circle moves. How does on determine which will occur?

Is there any way to sketch _without_ constraints being added until you assign them? I find I use most of my time tracking down and deleting constraints that Fusion has decided I'd like. Lines become fixed to other lines, moving a circle drags half the drawing around, etc. I'd love to be able to just sketch without constraints and then go back in once I'm sure of the design intent... Can I delete only constraints within a selected boundary for instance..?

Excellent. Clearly explained, visual and verbal descriptions are in sync and paced well. Very little "glossing over" or skipping vital information (perhaps I missed it, but the order that entities are selected seems to matter) No extra words, I imagine this is how William Strunk talked. Great videos, Taylor. Could you do one on sketching on multiple planes in 3d space and applying constraints to those sketches to create rails for Loft? I'm having a hell of a time. I can use constraints no problem on a single plane but they don't seem to have the same properties when there are multiple planes in 3d space. T-spline handles can't be manipulated either. I am clearly doing something wrong!

Great tutorial. Thanks. My question is how do I disable a previously assigned constraint. For example, I have a 4 sided geometry and I added a = constraint, but then decided it would be better if the two equal parts are no longer needed, one now needs to be longer than the other, but I can't figure out how to disable that = constraint. Thanks again.

Anyone know if the fix constraint works with splines? I'm drawing a fuselage the outline contains two long splines..... When drawing crossmembers, I apply constraints to assure they are parallel and of a certain width.... the crossmembers are distorting the spline as drawn. I'm having trouble constraining the splines so as not to be influenced by additions to the sketch. Any thoughts appreciated

so I am stuck on how to get a curved end on a profile. draw 2 lines 90 degrees to create a corner. Offset the corner by 10mm. Join the 2 ends with a curve and you have a 90 degree corner with curved ends - great. Increase the offset and the curves increase to match - great. BUT - decrease the offset to 5mm and the curves disappear and/or break. Tried it with 2 point circle and trim - same thing, they break. How can I drive these end curves to work with the offset without having to reference the offset formula? Thanks

Why did it change the size of the rectangle when you set a colinear constraint between the side of the rectangle and the line? Shouldn't it just make that portion of the line shared without changing the dimensions of the rectangle?

Hi, great beginner's tutorial. In trying to make two connecting lines perpendicular and instead of getting a right angle symbol in the corner of my two lines I got, the "T" icon and a message that said over constrained. What does this mean? Any help please.
@jojo41
@jojo41 5 жыл бұрын
The 'T' is the icon for perpendicular, coincident looks like a right angle (but the lines don't touch.) You'll get an 'over constrained' error when existing constraints already effect what you're trying to constrain. (ex: a horizontal line and a vertical line are already perpendicular.)

Can you please add annotations to this video (possibly over the top of the constraints window on the right since it doesn't move throughout the video) that act like a table of contents so when a viewer clicks on it, it skips forward in the video to the corresponding constraint they are looking for making it a lot more convenient. Anyway, thanks for the tips, it helped me a lot :)

I'm not sure if this is a constraint. For some reason after a certain period of time, the sketch becomes locked and I can't delete anything at all. I can add just fine, but can't do ANYTHING to the modify current sketch, extremely frustrating (fist through monitor level frustration) I just put a ticket in with AutoDesk this AM, I can't deal with this anymore. It's been so bad that I have to start all over with a sketch because the previous is locked. I get no warnings or explanations, drawing has a slight flash as if it's trying to delete but the problem remains.
