Thank you for this. I have used this tool before but I didn't think of using it in this way. Much appreciated!

Cool trick, unfortunately i have a very complex casing that won't exactly work with this method either...

Unfortunately this does not give an even thickness with curved surfaces.

What about torus or ring shape? Why not to offset the faces instead?
@zakariakhamees3 жыл бұрын
Did u find a solution for thickening a ring hollow like shape? I have been trying for 2 hours but no luck.
@m342753 жыл бұрын
@@zakariakhamees Thicken/Offset works on simple hollow ring. Maybe your geometry is more complex or messy?
@zakariakhamees3 жыл бұрын
@@m34275 Yeah it is kind of complex.. its a centrifugal compressor casing. I took a long time designing it but its only a surface now and i want to make it solid.
@m342753 жыл бұрын
@@zakariakhamees Idk try splitting it and thickening parts separately. At least you'll locate the problematic area. Fusion often has issues with complex parts. Also it is optimized for solids so I would suggest remodelling, there may be more issues in the future.

@@m34275 I actually tried chopping it into two pieces and then thickening it and it didn't work. But i think it would work if i chopped it into more smaller pieces. I guess i am gonna try this today. Thanks for your help.

So this is for when shell doesn't work... what about for Thicken?
@AtharvaSathaye2 жыл бұрын
instead of decreasing the scale of the tool increase it and cut the original from the tool instead of cutting the tool from the original.

Yeeeeah nah I'll find another way.
@kumada844 ай бұрын
This is a really inaccurate way of doing this. The thickness won't be uniform. If the shell command doesn't work, there's something wrong with your object. It would be better to find out why it's not working.

this is horrible.... too difficult for one simple thing... hollow

When you hit the shell command a computer should be able to do these calculations in zero seconds. What a garbage program can anyone make a useable program soon?
