WOW! What an impressive outcome, did not expect that sort of power I thought probably about 180 but 200+ that’s awesome. 🙌🏻 Shame about the small issues but look at the bigger picture it doesn’t take anything away from the car you’ve built! Well done Andy 👍🏻

Yeh I was shocked as honestly thought something like 192 bhp. Torque is where I thought it would be. If it had a Cosworth inlet the ftlbs would of probably been more in the 160s so shows the inlet does give good torque

The part of the cam you are refuring to is called the lob and the less pointy the lobe the longer it holds the valves open

Was thinking of buying a fusion inlet but spoke to dreamscience and they told me they had a lot of trouble with the inlet getting mapped. I have the cosworth replica so will probably keep it.

Oh really when did they say this? As it was more the opposite for me as they said they had mapped a few now so he had a map already in place but then tweaks it

@@DriveWithAndy it was either last year or 2022. They also said it would be better to bring my car to them but as I'm in northern Ireland it would be too much trouble. Thought they could email me a map using their handset.

@@stfez2007 AHH ok so yeh they have dealt with a few more since then. I'd speak to Mike or Jared at Dreamscience about if a plug in device with a map on could be sorted as he did say due to mapping a few now he's set up a preset for these inlets now and then adjusts for custom mapping

It's really hard to get them in both good condition and at a reasonable price here in Germany. If you want one that's not a complete mess either because of disrepair or weird mods, you can easily pay upwards of 6k€. I got mine for 1800€ but it's in rough shape in terms of the paintjob, needed new wheels and tires right away as the old ones were shot and it has a few random dents as well. Relatively high mileage on top (around 211000km when I bought it). 1800€ was still way below market value. Well happy with what I got for it, even if i had to spend money on it immediately.

The bonnet latches are very tight, on mine I ground as much material as possible off the latch and there was just a few mil clearance to the inlet but occasionally it rubbed

You don't need a resistor in the bonnet switch, just use a short piece of wire 👍🏼

I have an angled K&N on the end of my FF inlet, points down towards the back of the headlight.

Hi Andy, so you just cut the PCV open, get the inners out, do the hose and all connections and stick it back into the oil separator? No baffle plate needed ect? Awesome car mate!!👊🏾

Thanks, really appreciate it. It was such a big thing so I wanted to document the whole experience to bring the viewer along. The headlights are custom, hex halo with projector and AutoBeam LEDs. But going custom I've found you always get issues with misting up

Thanks 😊 so I'd like the rest of the Maxton kit. But before the car shows in summer I am going to get the strut brace, which Is rusty, re powder coated and the engine bay top mounts painted panther black. Then I'd like the seats re trimmed

I have a zetec s and I'm planning to convert it to an st but I was thinking to make it 2.3 To be more precise 2.0 st150 head with Newman 2 Piper valve spring Full miltek resonated exhaust with sport cat Caterham inlet with 60mm throttle and Mountune airbox (if it fits or a cone filter pipercross) 2.3 block from maverick Crankshaft from ranger Mazdaspeed 3 rods (or whatever is strong enough) 2.0 st150 pistons because is the highest compression ratio 10.8 I would love to hear your thoughts I would love to hit the 200 wheel hp Cheers from Greece

200hp and 177lbft of torque is sensational compared to most other 200 spec st150s with torque not much higher than standard if at all higher

Yeh that's why I chose both the FF inlet and the Phase 1 cams. Granted phase 2 cams would of possibly got me a few more bhp and even ftlbs of torque but only higher up the rev range so for me to have peak torque at 4750rpm is awesome. Makes the power more usable

With the short inlet manifold from Fusion Fabrications you can install the CAI from Mountune ? Also, the throttle body was the same (55mm) or bigger (the 60mm) ?

The FF inlet is longer/wider so the throttle body sits further over meaning you can not have the mountains CAI. I have a Ram Air cc280 offset filter and cold air feeds from the fog and that works great now. I kept the standard 55mm throttle body so I didn't loose torque

I have one with Newman cams stage 2, CAI from Mountune, 4-1 exhaust and 60mm full exhaust (with the 2 silencers/drums but with no cat - to have more performance than loud sound). LSD Quaife, short shifter and many more technical addons. Also, software from dreamscience (custom and normal maps). Don't know the power of it right now, I will make a dyno, but most probably I will want to reach 200hp (and good torque) as NA. If you have any recommendation, please let me know. Aesthetically, it is not ready, apart from the rust treatment, but I hope to take care of it this year.

@@SilentBay1879 to get the best torque, all be it from the NA engine the Fusion Fabrications inlet or caterham inlet are the best as the usual Cosworth one will get you to 200bhp but can either loose torque or gain very little.

Yeh standard ECU, it's pretty normal to hit mid 160s with air filter and full exhaust.

@@DriveWithAndy they are good at adapting without mapping then, I’ve done mods on my 1.6 ZS NA and feel about a 10bhp gain, but it probably actually is since how well these respond, same ecu as far as I know

Not sure if you've discussed this but how much did the cams and inlet cost to be fitted at dreamscience? I am considering doing the same myself as that sound and performance speaks for itself!

So they sourced the cams, I sorted the inlet and fittings. So for cams, fitting of inlet and cams and custom remap. Plus did before runs was around 1100/1200 from memory

@@NirvanaSOAD960960 so if you do the same as I did fitting and then remap due to only remapping in the mornings I had to stay over a the fitting was, well supposed to be, done one day then mapped the next morning. It took me over 3 hours to get there. I went the nearby Ibis hotel, cheapest hotel around but for a good reason haha but I didn't care

Im currently looking at purchasing an st150 which has a mr165 kit fitted which is nice. I was looking into the fusion fabs inlet for a future upgrade but i was wondering what people think about the space within the engine bay. The 165 upgrade adds the mountune cold air intake system which i'd assume doesnt lesve the sapce for the inlet+throttle body? Thanks to anyone if they happen to know.

Your right the Mounting intake housing will not fit. Although it's possible it may be able to be cut up and adapted to work. But once you have a heat wrapped manifold, coolant hose silicone or heat wrapped like mine and cold air feeds heat soak isn't an issue

@@DriveWithAndy Damn, I appreciate the almost instant response time. I'd feel wrong cutting up the box for the cais so selling would be the most ideal at that point. If I did happen to cut it, assuming all the other precautions are taken, nothing such as less filtration will occur? I feel a little bad modifying it beyond slight interior cosmetics as its only got 21k miles on the original engine. I'll update you as per your request on another comment a couple months ago if I go through with the purchase. Perhaps I'll see you at a car fair if I'm able to go to any this year mate.

@@someone8476 yeh I agree it's not really what I would do. I would sell, sure youl get a decent amount for it. Then do the improved coolant hose, or just heat wrap like I did, then cold air feeds and or heat wrapped manifold and heat soak rescued. Yeh keep me posted and this year the 3 car shows I am at are Ford Fair, Ford Fest and Trax Donnington 👍🙂

Wow. Waitied for over a year on this video and have to say it was brilliant. Such a shame but the bonnet pins seeing this puts me off the idea of ever getting this inlet for mine as i want to keep it OEM looking on the outside 🥲

Same haha. Yeh I don't massively mind the bonnet pins, sort of suite the build of the car being a bit of a race car look. But it's not the norm to have to have the bonnet pins fitted with this inlet
