Funny...this series is as old as I am. I thought the Joker Mobile (everything was called a mobile at that time) was related to Grandpa's dragster on the Munsters. But,....notice something. The remote control unit they used to stear the batmobile was the early version radio controller. This during a time when we still had black & White tv's the size of a dresser.

That is such a great observation! Here's something I found in at least two episodes: In The Black Widow episode, the overview of Gotham City is Boston, MA. It's from 1968, so the newer Hancock Tower isn't there yet, but you can clearly see the old Hancock, the Prudential Tower and, what first grabbed my eye, the gold dome of the Massachusetts State House. I'm a Bostonian, born and bred (and butter...), so seeing that gave me special pride.

I turned 8 in January of 1966! 2 new shows!! Batman and Star Trek!! Shortly afterwards, The Green Hornet!!! I was absolutely captivated!! Then there were these other shows that sort of parodied the Super-Hero craze of the day! Captain Nice and Mr. Terrific!! Of course, the Vehicles just blew me away!! Then there was the USS Enterprise! The absolute most badass Spaceship ever!! Here it is 2024 and the Original Constitution Class Enterprise still holds up! Of course, 10 years after Trek was cancelled, a new updated (Refit) Enterprise hit the big screen! That particular Space Ship is still the absolute most elegant and magnificent ever!! To this day, there is NOTHING that outclasses her!!

At the 2:00 mark, the Rolls Royce sequence is a different car in the different scenes. It starts all black with red seats that may or may not be a Silver Cloud I. The next scene shows a Silver Cloud III which is 1963-66 because of the 4 headlight configuration. The final scene is a Silver Cloud I (or possibly II depending on the year), but it is now two tone with gray seats. It is obviously 3 different cars!

If I had money to burn, I would have a replica built for me but with a twist: It would be a full-EV. Consider this: Robin jumps into the Batmobile and says, "Atomic Batteries to Power, Turbines to Speed." That atomic pile at the rear of the Batcave was there to provide the atomic power to the Batmobile. Hence, it was an EV.
@jasonrodgers90633 ай бұрын
What does an EV use a TURBINE for? What's the source of the FLAMES shooting out of the rear of the Batmobile? Or, we could just "roll with it", and be entertained!!

Great collection! On a completely different note, how about a story of the 1928 Porter starring in My Mother The Car? There were also a lot of classic cars that Captain Manzini owned shown in that series. Jerry Van Dyke said they should have called the show My Brother The Star. Not to take away from this great video, but FWIW the Sunbeam Alpine at 7:18 is a Series V. The Series IV had metal panels that covered the convertible top when stowed, and the vinyl cover shown in the video was introduced on the Series V. Another clue is the square corner doors and hood (bonnet), which were only on the Series V.

Fantastic info! The only corrections I believe are necessary come at the 9:00 mark. The Cadillac appears to be a ‘65 while the Mustang which drives by in the foreground is a ‘67. Otherwise, incredible work and incredibly entertaining.
@rss1956clipper4 ай бұрын
Don't know about the Mustang but the video is correct about the Cadillac. It's a 1966. You can tell because the cornering lamp is in the fender, rather than being attached to the front bumper assembly. 65 cornering lights filled the whole space between the headlight and wheel well below the trim line and above the bumper. Also, You can see the divider bar in the grille, which also marks it as a 1966. Edit: that's the convertible at 9:00. You can see the differences by looking at the Cadillac at 9:12, which is a 65 and shows the bigger cornering light nicely. Great video, I'm really enjoying these (and still hoping for Perry Mason one day!)

@richardcastro1276Ай бұрын
Sounds better... Saying automobile seems nicer than saying car. Now everything else Batman owns and builds is said to have Bat in front.. Batbelt, etc... Now the reason is the sound is more natural to most people Bat + automobile = Bat-automobile which easily flows more softer into.... BATMOBILE Harmonics!!!!
