I like how we're finally getting a true backstory to a character. Usually all we get is a "this happened, now they're crazy", but no. Vanessa probably felt guilty about everything, and started suppressing her emotions, leaving her vulnerable

I think Vanessa felt like she never had any control in her life which may have stemmed from her father forcing her to lie on the stand in court which caused her mother to take her own life. But it seems that although she doesn't want to hurt anyone Glitchtrap is promising her control in life and over people via manipulation such as charming Louis from HR to look the other way, we also know that Glitchtrap is reading her files to know how to use her own anger for his own reasons. You also start to realize that Vanessa is Killing her therapists because they start bringing up her father and mother a subject she hates because of her guilt which adds to the line " I should do as I'm told" is her agreeing with Afton to kill the people who bother her.

Maybe Matpat was onto something with his Cult of Glitchtrap theory… pointing out that while he puts his will onto others, he can’t have absolute control over them… which also explains how Vanessa could be redeemed in one of the endings Fusion found earlier. Maybe, unlike previous game where Purple Guy’s (or Afton… but I’m STILL so used to calling him Purple Guy after all these years) crimes were unstoppable, this new phase of FNAF games could have us stopping Glitchtrap by stopping his ‘puppeteering’ of others. Hmmm.

Both have different voice actors and the tapes show them acting either very isolated or very chill. Vanessa is uncomfortable with bright lights and colors because she works the night shift.

The only 2 thing I have with this game is: the gameplay is so "generic" like poppy or bendy, this doesnt feel likes an fnaf. Molten Freddy's appearance is still the same consisting of wires and a Freddy Head. Maybe the FNaF 6 fire wasn't enough to fully get rid of them. Who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It a bit of a trend in the horror genre, a games gets popular and once it releases it’s usually very buggy and leaves people disappointed. Happened with Hello Neighbour (although that game was always doomed to be a mess), BATIM (had potential but it’s just a sloppy indie game that felt underwhelming) and now FNAF has the same curse. Poppy’s Playtime seems to be a bit different but it’s still pretty short as of now, which the other games mentioned seem to be too

Is anyone else noticing two distinct people the therapist is having a session with? When Vanessa is in session, it clearly states her name every time, but no name is mentioned when the person in session won’t talk. The silent person loves candy, but Vanessa refuses it. The silent person doesn’t fit well in the chair. I think both Vanessa and Gregory are being interviewed. If not Gregory, maybe Vanny? Is Vanny a separate alter? Very interesting.

I agree, I believe Gregory is being interviewed in both 24:22 and 27:50 The therapist mentions how they don't fit in their chair (perhaps because they are too small for it) and feels the need to explain larger words such as phenom, which one might say to a child. A child would also likely request a piece of candy, as demonstrated with the next therapist, as well as the therapist having to explain objectivity vs subjectivity, which they likely wouldn't have felt the need to do to a full grown adult.

I feel like if saving should be like this you should be able to have some “secret” save points or have some points were the game automatically saves. Or at the least keep all the stuff you find

@@smiley6080 yeah absolutely agree. It would also fit into the fnaf 'hidden secrets' brand to have secret save spots. But even then, people would still be under the assumption that there are no save points so it would mean that people would still get game overs and hard reset if they didn't manage to find the hidden save points because they are just unlucky or they don't expect to find them. It's a tricky one for sure and I think only through committed fnaf players like the wider fanbase, cc's like Fusion, Dawko, Raz etc playing the game that Steelwool will hear feedback that it was too punishing. Maybe testers thought it was fine but for those that are really invested in the series it's clear it was way too difficult/stressful. Idk they seem to be really good at listening to customer feedback and addressing bugs so hopefully the game can be updated to be a bit more user-friendly.

23:40 Her mother likely comitted suicide. It's common for parents who lose custody battles, especially if they were supposed to win them (Bill was abusive/manipulative so he wouldn't have won if Vanessa hadn't said anything). It's probably cut out because I think it greatly raises the rating of the game and it's just a hard subject and thing to say to loud. Plus mystery. Knowing Bill is probably William (nickname for William is Bill) he probably murdered the mother to make it look like a sucide. 25:25 Vanny probably killed her last one because she was questioning the encrypted messages. 27:54 And a new one again, the last one probably being murdered after questioning the encrypted messages again. The last therapist said the messages were manipulative, probably Glitchtrap, who is Afton, who is Bill, so it makes sense why Vanessa would listen, she did before. 29:45 (Later Fusion complains about the candy eating and to just give him the story, but it's actually important LOL) Vanessa denied the candy, which means the 'relaxed' person was Vanny not her original personality. (I guess now is a good time to bring up that I think Vanny is an alter ego, born from Glitchtrap's manipulation into driving Vanessa insane.) Vanessa typically answers questions, so I'm assuming when she's completely silent it's actually Vanny sitting there. So on top of that, the one that's really good with computers is Vanny, not Vanessa who denied knowing anything about computers.

I feel like some of these conversations could be between the therapist and Gregory, not Vanessa. That would explain why the therapist feels the need to explain complicated words to him, and why the therapist introduces themselves twice. I believe the reason that Gregory explained his parents death like "reading from a book" instead of them being experienced memories is because he is some sort of animatronic, and those memories were supplanted into his head. This is supported by the bad ending, where he lives on the streets instead of going to any sort of family. I believe the therapist was talking to Gregory about being a hacker, which would make sense considering his high level of competence for a child throughout the game.

However, while the therapist asked Vanessa about the hacking and said the Pizzaplex techs think it's her, her therapist said she doesn't see any evidence Vanessa could do that, but that supports more of the 'Vanny' thing, plus Vanessa even makes an excuse of using the computers for non-work stuff.

Honestly, while not being able to save is definitely an inconvenience (especially if you didn't do Chica's stuff), doing all the other completion stuff is surprisingly kinda chill. There are way fewer things that can kill you, and the things that CAN are restricted to specific areas, so you know what you're getting into. Still tedious as hell though

The candy part is important, I think. Because at first she accepted the candy immediately without saying anything and the next part she said no because of calories, and the therapist is like "Huh...". It might be a stretch, but I think Vanessa might be possessed by Baby. In the candy tape, the one who accepts the candy immediately could be Baby (Elizabeth died because of her love of candy). Also, Vanessa finds comfort in the dark, but the silent one hates it. Baby hates the dark because of the time she spent locked up in Afton’s basement. The way the therapists talk to the silent one, sounds like they are talking to a child with lines like “do you know what that means?” My final reason (although it is also a stretch) is the fact that Elizabeth and Vanessa have the same voice actress.

@Tutorialn’t I thought the game was underwhelming at first but know it’s probs my game of the year (either this or little nightmares 2) and maybe one of my favourite games tbh bc there is so much character and though the main plot is short (until the hardcore part) the rest of the game is just jam packed with secrets,Easter eggs throwbacks and also the 80s vibe and music is awesome

Another thing to note is that 20/20 isn’t required to get the full experience and at most you’ll only miss a cutscene that you can look up, with security breach there’s still more to do and see so you either gotta speedrun the whole thing which really sucks out all the joy or put up with losing lots of progress from annoying bugs (that bug testers should’ve found in the first ten minutes of playtime) once you reach just over halfway into the game

I’m pretty sure the connections are easier to make than expected with the tapes lore-wise. Like Vanessa’s dad wouldn’t be mentioned if he wasn’t important. His name is Bill, a common nickname for WILLIAM, as in William AFTON. If Vanessa is in fact William Afton’s daughter, then that makes Glitchtrap turning her into Vanny all the more insidious. He manipulated his own daughter into a monster.

It could be possible. Considering he might've achieved immortality; he might've remarried in the early 2000's, had vanessa, divorced her mother, and went off to do his fnaf 3 shindig only to run into his eldest son, Michael 20 years or so later. Now People might say "no, william died 30 years before fnaf 3" BUT there's one detail they missed; it's been stated that fnaf 3 was 30 years after fnaf 1 not after William died. So it could've been possible William died in the mid-late 2000's when vanessa would've been pretty young.

I believe the CD recordings indicate that there're 2 individuals having a therapy session here. One is definitely Vanessa, while the other is someone else (I guess it's Vanny). The reason for this is that the codes of the logs are different: One set of the logs starts with 71.... and another set starts with 46.... Another reason is that those logs start with code 71.... there are always clear voice responses from "Vanessa" talking back to the therapist, while we never hear any voice response from the person in logs with code 46.... at all (for now, since you've collected 7). Another crucial reason is that Vanessa (logs with code 71....) and the person in logs with code 46.... have different personalities. So far that you've collected, from Logs started with 71...., we learned that Vanessa always follows orders and instructions, love to be outside reading books, doesn't seem to know much about computers, and is kind of anxious about things like being cautious of taking a piece of candy. On the other hand, the person in Logs start with 46.... is more rebellious, has profession toward technology and computers (even the therapist compare the person to a hacker), likes to stay inside or dark places, and has a carefree-like attitude, forr instance, sitting in a chair comfortably and taking the candy as he/she want. And these points hinted that it's not just Vanessa in these logs. There's another person who also has the same therapist as Vanessa in which the name hasn't been revealed. An additional point is that the messages Vanessa received and got her into trouble were, presumably, the person in Logs start with 46.... since it was mentioned that he/she is an expert in technology. The person possibly hacked Vanessa's user account and used it to chat with, who I assumed is, the remaining animatronic body of Springtrap (Purple Guy) living underground that you fought

Fusion as a former Psych Major I’d like to help you. Therapy is like a relationship. (Not in a weird way) but in the sense that you both have to work together. When one stops talking and progress stops happening often one might change to another therapist. In some cases you can stay with the o.g. Therapist and work through things together. But I would guess a company such as Fazbear Ent. would wish for their employees to be accessible night and day without mental health problems so when progress started, they changed her therapist possibly to ones with more experience dealing with issues similar to what Vanessa was experiencing. I hope this helps.

From what I understood of the ending, the Pizzaplex was kinda built above and around the FFPS location, like the mall in The Silver Eyes novel. And, of course, like it's already tradition of the series, the fire didn't completely destroy the souls of William and Molten Freddy. William returned once again, and maybe via Glitchtrap, tried to take over the animatronics above ground. There are still a few details missing, but in this new fire, Molten Freddy once again tried to take matters into their own hands and kidnapped Afton. The Pizzaplex probably burned down after that, and Vanny is still missing after that. Basically a cliffhanger ending for DLC or sequel.

Speaking of Vanessa, I remember seeing the trailer depicting that she wants to help Gregory just like how Freddy wants to help him. Like, she's really gentle to Gregory and she also warns him about the weirdness of the situation however in the game itself, not only I didn't see the Vanessa's gentle dialogue to Gregory, I also haven't seen the cut scene where Vanessa can only helplessly watch as Gregory (alone or with Freddy presumably) in the elevator as it goes down. Vanessa in the official release game looks and sounds haughty, bossy, impatient especially to children (ehem, targeted to Gregory)... Her gentle demeanor may have seen at first (or friendly, helpful sef) in her first appearance but then later on when you were caught by Vanessa coz the damn map robot won't let u go in the elevator, you wake up later on in the Lost and Found room and she speaks to you so arrogantly like "yeh i know ur name *Gr3g0Ry* 👁️👄👁️💅" She's like the total opposite of what they made her appear in the trailer. Unless there's a hidden section of the game, and a different order of playing it, these scenes can be unlocked in that way/s(?) -might be if they really put that diff route .... Correct me if i'm wrong (if i got something wrong or I've missed some things) Edit: Also when you're normally caught by Vanessa while wondering in the hallway, u get a Game over screen(?) I watched someone's cropped video of this and honestly was confused coz I thought it's gonna have a cut scene or another quick ending coz it's Vanessa the guard who caught him (sane self i assume) and not Vanny!

Vanessa isn't the only one that seemed different from the trailer. I remember Monty, or another deep voice exclaiming: "You will do as I say! You will bring me what I want! And if you fail me, then you will... Both of you BURN!" which really gave me the impression that Monty was going to be a main antagonist besides Vanessa. I feel like I’m starting to understand the narrative of the tapes. Vanessa is someone who seems to be insecure, easily manipulated and good at following instructions. In the tapes they say someone has been stealing her personal files from her therapy session. She doesn’t want to say anything about it because of the manipulative messages this person is sending her. I think the second person on the tapes is Vanny. (I personally believe the ending reveals they are twin sister and not that it’s her ghost or something). So Vanny was the one manipulating her and stole her twins personal files so she could have a fake backstory to tell the therapists. Vanny hacks into the security system and goes on a murder spree to kill all the therapists. Even though Vanessa is too scared to say anything about what she knows, she seems to not be fully aware what her twin is capable of or about the murders. Thats why Vanessa asked where the last therapist went even though the other person on the tapes, Vanny, isn’t suprised at all because she committed these murders.

Why it isn’t Vanessa her ghost: in the ending, vanny dies in the suit and gregory takes her mask off. Even though the Vanessa we see on top of the building has the same face, she is wearing her security guard outfit. If it was the ghost of the same person who died, I think they would have shown her in the vanny suit with the mask off. Representing the way she looked when she died. But instead she is wearing the security guard outfit. I think they did this with a reason. Also, I think Gregory knows Vanny in a way but doesn’t know Vanessa. In the Princess quest ending where we have ice cream with “Vanessa” notice that she isn’t wearing her security guard uniform. I think this means that this girl is Vanny and not Vanessa.

Ok, so, from what I can gather from the CDs... Vanessa had been going to a series of premeditated therapy sessions, by Fazbear Ent. as a ploy to see whether it was Afton she was being controlled by. However, each time a therapist gets too close to the truth, either Vanny or Afton kills them. The second therapist tried using psychological manipulation, via using things like "or will I?" "will you?" "do you?" etc. to get Vanessa stressed out, and eventually she would burst, and spill out everything she knew. It appears "Bill" is William Afton, as no two characters in this franchise share the same name, not even nicknames. (EXAMPLES: Mike, Michael Afton, Vanny, Vanessa.) Bill is a shortened nickname of William. Credits to Cynical Dramady for this next section, from his comment. (Context is above) "It could be possible. With the cd's I feel like once the therapists find out about the encrypted messages, that those are messages between Afton and Vanessa. And once the therapist find out that she's been having this encrypted conversation, that Afton gets them fired/gets rid of them.

"Bill" is the nickname used for the name "William", I think Vanessa is Afton's daughter and possibly Roxy is Vanessa's mom which is why they blocked out the tape with her voice line. That could kind of explain why Roxy cries (because she lost the custody battle) and possibly why her voice lines sound kind of threatening (maybe Vanessa had to tell the lie that her mom was abusing her) and why she gives herself pep talks and treats finding Gregory like a contest (possibly memories of the court case). While this is a good theory it kinda goes against some other existing theorys. Like the theory that Vanessa is Gregory's mom. That would make Roxy Gregory's grandmother. And if she did posses Roxy then Roxy would try to help us not attack us..
