What a wonderful comment! Thank you so much. Hearing that gives me so much motivation. I have a lot of exciting things planned for the channel and many videos to come. I think the futsal, and goalkeeper community is really strong and we can all learn from each other and I hope that we all improve and learn from each other.

Guys!!! im addicted, love this sport, started last year, when i was asked to play futsal as defender then our goalie couldnt make it so i was placed into the goal bar... MAN!!! i love it!!! its truely a unique and different role. When i move to sweden definitely going look for a low league team and build myself up. Got interdivision games at college in 8 days. Cant wait!!!! FUTSAL FOR LIFE!!! Been working hard on the save split, not sure if im be ready with that in 8 days but yoga definitely making me more flexable.

You are the only KZbinr I know who makes videos ONLY ABOUT Futsal. I am a futsal Goalkeeper and you are a totally inspiration to me!, and you make notice that a being a Futsal goalkeeper it's not the same on Football 11, like a lot of people think. I just enjoy so much this video! somehow I like this 1v1 situations, it feels so good when you win than hand-to-hand. And sorry about my English, I'm from South America :D

David Haynes - I can't believe that you answered me :O Thanks a lot! :D Oh, and I'm from Venezuela. Well... I really have problems with air balls, centers, free kicks... I get nervous and insecure, it's just a matter of self-confidence, or there's a technique for that? And one more time, thank you so much! Keep doing your excellent work! :D

Daniel is awesome and it's always scary to stand against someone so skillful. The video was fun to watch, and that rainbow flick ha ha . Btw can you do a video or tell us about some exercises we can do in gym or with dumbbells at home for upper body strength cause normal exercises which my gym instructor gave me is making me little muscular but I am having sore muscle all day so I am losing my agility and stamina I guess. Appreciate those saves though ;)

Had my first game as keep tonight for my all vegan team here in Portland(Killer TOFU FC) and did prettyu decent I think....VERY first shot on me I took and stopped with my chin, no worries lol. I am noticing that I need to get better at closing distance on breakaways, especially since my team struggles a bit with containing opposing strikers and I get a lot of action....feel a bit too passive sitting back allowing them time to set up a shot. Could use some pointers on how to slide forward, or even just go full on keeper sweeper with feet blocks when closing out. I also noticed how large the keeper circle is....kinda has me excited to push out more and more. Great fun!

I got one question, at 3:38, theoretically, if you have enough time to set it up etc, if you ground your knee, wouldnt it better or at least safer to ground your right knee and trust it to cover the whole right side of the goal while the "rest" of you + your hands cover the left side of the goal?

The penalty technique that you don’t recommend is similar to what I do in 6 aside that has had a bit of success. Stand to one side slightly but pretend to the striker that you don’t realise and think you’re central. I stand slightly to the left coz I’m better at diving to my right.

Hey ya, I've actually made a video on this topic :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3OUg2uIp62ZnNE There's quite a lot of thoughts about this when it comes to futsal, I'd say it comes down to personal preference. I enjoy the extra comfort and grip that gloves provide but I'm aware i'm sacrificing some handling.

David but in real games in penalties the keeper can't be closer to the penalty because the keeper must stand on the line of the goal until the ball is kicked.
@DavidHaynesGK7 жыл бұрын
Hey ya If it's a penalty, for a foul in the area it's taken from 6M out - and the keeper must stand on his line. In the case of a 10M penalty/direct free kick (awarded for 6th foul) the actual rules state: 'The goalkeeper remains in his penalty area at a distance of at least 5m from the ball' So, in this case as long as I'm 5m away, it's fine. Law 13, page 46 on the FIFA rules. www.fifa.com/mm/document/footballdevelopment/refereeing/51/44/50/lawsofthegamefutsal2014_15_eneu_neutral.pdf
@manuelrivera53477 жыл бұрын
David Haynes ok that's why because I didn't know of that thx for educating to let me know more of the rules because my coach told me you can't step out of the line in futsal to stop the ball.

Wait a minute, David, this is weird. In penalty shootout, I always get warned by the referee not to step off the line. And sometimes when I do, and I save it, the ref just repeats the penalty, since I was stepping inside the field and disobeying the rules. I thought we played by the same rules everywhere... How is this?

Wow, thank you David! And thank you for finding the reference. I will be using this. Looks like our university league refs arent that much educated... But yea, mostly it is 6M penalty, that Ive been having problems with. Thanks again, man, it is a great channel! We needed this! I just found your channel and I will be checking the rest of the videos, and I hope to find some tips on how to organize some sort of training only by yourself :) Regards!
@DavidHaynesGK7 жыл бұрын
You're welcome Stefan! :) Yeah, 6m Pens are much harder to save, especially as good strikers tend to hit the ball hard. You have very little time to react. I ust tend to spread and do my best to try and react. I will actually be doing a video for JUST Pens - Stay tuned :) Training by yourself - That's actually a WHOLE series that I have planned. It's difficult to get people to help/train with you at times. If you're like me, you always want to improve and it's hard to find ways to do that by yourself. But fortunately I have some ideas and plenty of training drills, tips and advice for you to do yourself.

I always dive on futsal it's normal?
@stuffno30586 жыл бұрын
You can try with split saves, too. I remember I dived all the time the first time I tried futsal and most of time, the ball gets into the goal because I was too far from saving ball. The goal is very small and it's harder to dive when there is small space. I mean you can dive, but you can also incorporate doing splits saves, too.

do i just realize that you have a habit of getting down on your left knee way too early?but i guess it's a really fun things to do though lol
@DavidHaynesGK7 жыл бұрын
I know I drop it my knee, but frankly I wouldn't say it's too early at all. Notice I don't ground my knee, it's instead hovered. As long as it doesn't hit the ground and 'stop' me, I can still react and re-position. I think it in fact assists in creating a wall and doesn't put me at a disadvantage.
@michaelbathcollege49447 жыл бұрын
I agree in part, I would suggest that it could stop you from closing the ball down quicker as you seem eager to put the knee down. Also, when covering the left hand side of your goal you drop the wrong leg (as per your tip video). Nice video tho, good work.
@MuhammadVidi7 жыл бұрын
well that's true,and you have a solid reason about that though but maybe it's because you and i have a different kind of play style,i usually try to keep my "M" shape position in that kind of situations because i want to prevent the players from getting past around me,but from this i can also learn something new,plus that split save is spot on David great hands,another nice video that you gave,gonna wait for the next one. Cheers mate!
@DavidHaynesGK7 жыл бұрын
Michael BathCollege, I would say it doesn't affect my movement half as much - partly because I will only perform that move if I'm in a position I'm happy with. But yeah, you're spot on actually - It's not 'best' practice. It is definitely the incorrect leg - not optimal - Something for me to work on. :) Knowing and doing is a very different thing ;)
