I started goalkeeping in both football and futsal as injuries ended my outfield career. I rely only to my reflexes, which are, even if I say it myself, unbelieveably fast. I´m also tallish, 190cm and 84kg (when I played more seriously, I was around 77-80kg), which helps. Injuries make some movements slightly unorthodox, but in futsal it doesn´t matter much. Obviously, my weakness is positioning and actual technique. Weirdly enough, original outdoor football, even as I was really good in the air, I´ve found it incredibly difficult to get the high balls with my hands! I can take any ball heading it, but reaching it with my hands... timing is always off somehow. Anyway, I love the challenge of getting the ball, every mistake shows in the scoreboard etc. Keeping is lot of fun :) Thanks for the video, I´ll try this tonight!

Nice to see you back David. Personally I prefer to come out and set myself either way with the arm sweep at the edge of the D, partially because I don't have good enough reaction and partially I feel good players will just nail it in if they just put it on target. So I've settled with coming out because you play the probability of covering a lot of the goal, it forces them to place the shot and also intimidates them and plays with their mind too. In order for them to score like this, they'll have to actually take a good shot because an average one could be saved quite easily. Looking forward to more videos!

I prefer standing halfway between the edge of the gk area and the goal line that way if a shot is strong i have a better chance of saving it and I can also move a bit more towards the player or can even go back to my goal if he attends to chip me.

I really have a problem stopping range shots, I tend to go to low to save the hard grounded shots(which i am not very comfortable while saving and at times end up with a goal between the legs), This result is being in a very bad position for a powerful shot at top corner. I have a pretty decent height but coming up becomes a problem from that position.

I like to begin one step off the line then move two steps like im charging and react fast. It works very well because the shooter quickly gets deprived of the open space and you scare them a little if you go in like you mean it. And i also look in their eyes to see where they could be going
@gwencha
@gwencha 5 жыл бұрын
Ivan Rumbak I’m a little confused about this. Isn’t there a rule that keepers should stay on the line during penalties? Or are they allowed to step out after the whistle or something because I see a lot of keepers inKZbin videos stepping out of their line. I’m not clear on this so I tend to just stay on the line in case I get called out but I personally feel like I’d be more confident stepping off of it

@@gwencha Well i was mostly talking about 10 metter penalty shots but i have found a useful trick for the normal ones. You can be inside the goal for the penalty shots, so I stay one or two steps behind the line and when te player raises their leg for the kick you go and step on the line or a little in front. Sorry if i have been unclear, it is ny first time giving advice.

David,I am a futsal goalkeeper from Romania and I seem to be having the following issues : 1. I can do the block/split save on the right side but I can't on the left one 2. I panick every single time a teammate passes the ball to me and I'm always skying it to the opposite goal if you get me. Edit : I have just remembered that my teammates don't like the way I throw the ball (they say it's spinning too much so do you have any tips regarding that ?)

Mahalagiu not trying to schooling u mate, but for throwing technique u can try to grab the ball (since the futsal ball is smaller than the football ball, so its much easier to grab it with 1 hand) n when u throw it, throw it without moving ur wrist(just release the finger), I find it helps to reduce the rotation on the ball... to train, try to throw the ball using this technique to the crossbarr, just like a crossbar challenge but using ur hand... As for split save to the weak side(which every keeper have their strong n weak diving side) n panicking on the ball, u just need to practice n repetition sorry if its too long, hope it helps... cheers mate

@sahalshaikh3278
@sahalshaikh3278 5 жыл бұрын
Hi m8. For the 1st problem, I can't really help, cause I don't really use the split save that much. For the 2nd issues, do passing drill just kick the ball against a wall. Also I encourage 3 a side or even 4 a side with no goalkeeper to help with your composure. I think u should watch ederson moreas of Man city and allison becker if Liverpool and see how calm they are on the ball. The last one, just practice and try not to add spin to the ball. Hope this helped, and sry for it being 2 long

1. Practice practice practice. Start in slow motion, getting your positioning right, then at slow pace, and then faster. It's natural to have a 'preferred' side but it's important to practice your weak side. Be persistent, don't worry about training results, training is there to work on things. 2. I spent a few months practicing juggling daily and weekly, to improve my touch. As a futsal keeper, you need to be capable of joining the guys on the field, or making a quick counter attack, or simply being there in an emergency to receive a pass, and make a play. Spend time EVERY training session, with some ball work with your feet. You can do exactly the same drills as the field players, but it's important to work on your feet too. JUST as important as practicing your distribution with your hands IMO. Distribution with hands and feet for Futsal Keeper, is probably around 40-50% of your touches in a game. That's a VERY significant amount of your play, and amounts to a HUGE amount of improvement you can make as a keeper - don't JUST practicing shot blocking. Personally, I've found a 'water polo' throw to be the mos effective at mid and long range. It should be easy enough to look up if you're interested.

@@michelepacenti764 Im not offended at all mate 😁 but he's been named the best LNFS goalkeeper several times, won lots of tittles with the spanish national team and Barça... That's no luck. I've watched him life several times during his career and he is awesome. Very calm and composed, gives security to the team, anticipates and incredibly difficult to beat. Wessex I just wanted to say that SEEMS like he’s always lucky and SEEMS he has no technique.. I said that badly. But all the times I tried to imitate sedano I got bad results 🤣 but I think doing what he does requires a perfect sense of positioning and anticipate.

@alvarodeprado4401
@alvarodeprado4401 5 жыл бұрын
Herlambang Hadi W It is a physical reaction to close your eyes when the attacker shots the ball. The really important thing you should do is keep your body in good position, I mean not rotating your body because if you do that it will be much more difficult for you to save the goal.
@belfagor1980
@belfagor1980 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Herlambang Hadi W , it takes some time to master and exorcise that kind of fear, I used to be afraid too, but if you really persevere in goalkeeping you just end up accepting that hits to the face come with the job. It s more of an emotional issue than a technical one, but facing the striker in the right position will always help. As Alvaro P said, closing your eyes is a physical reaction, but in order to overcome this fear, you need to face it -no pun intended-; approach the striker instead of waiting for the striker to approach you, this will narrow the angle of his shot, once you are certain the shot is coming, work your final saving position and go for it. Trust me, the ball will still hit your face from time to time, but NOT as many times as you think, you will also notice that if it still happens, it never hurts as much as you thought it would; this helps you a lot in realizing that your body is a lot stronger than you might think and this in turn will lower your fear even further, creating a virtuous circle of motivation and hopefully, fearlessness. Good luck!

You always bend your legs like doing a cross when the striker shots, but in my opinion this is wrong. First, bending your legs mean youre shorter so you could take shots under the crossbar. Second, doing the cross means your reactive on shots at your right, but it’s more difficult for your on shots on your left. I prefer standing 2-3 steps forward and keep my legs straight
@DavidHaynesGK
@DavidHaynesGK 5 жыл бұрын
I actually think you're onto something here. I think knees slightly bent is optimal to help you get ready to react, but I go down a bit too much. You're also right on I favour one side heavily - I really shouldn't. I'll practice and work on this and let you know.
