weirdly after this episode even in the hulu episodes nixon’s alien proof fence was never here’d from again so either they haven’t finished it yet or this episode isn’t cannon.

To be fair to Nixon he can promise to build a fence, but if he doesn't get the funding he needs from congress there won't be a fence. Its possible some less paradoxical time travelers interceded that way with the plan.

It’s possible that Leela and Travers still changed the future by eliminating all of Nixon’s potential challengers, then being removed themselves from the timeline, giving Nixon a smooth unopposed race in the prime scenario and removing the need for him to have run on an aggressively xenophobic platform.
