I have a document on my computer that's called 'story ideas' where I just write down every single book concept that pops into my head. I get anxious that if I don't have it on paper I'll forget about it!

I love how your perspective has changed now that you're in the publishing industry! I think that's realistic too - most of our initial thoughts and ideas don't stay consistent over the years :) Also, I love hearing you talk about your books. You can just tell how much you love them and love writing. It's wonderfully inspiring!

Hey Lindsay, I know this comment is late, but I just want to say that your videos make me happy. 😊 I know you have your struggles, especially with your health, and other things us viewers probably don’t know about, but I love it that you exude HOPE. You don’t make your channel a “pity party” nor do you often bitch and whine about your hardships. As I said, you are full of hope about your life and your future, and as a depressed person, that inspires me. Congrats on your two books, and here’s praying for more books for you and a long and successful career ahead. GOD bless you, Ms. Lindsay. ❤

The Series of Unfortunate Events might be one of the best series ever written, tbh. I had to look up the ending because by the time the series ended, I had already graduated from the series.

Yes! The Netflix TV show also clears up the ending, and fills in more info than the books had!

Lots of grandmas everywhere! I pretty much always have a grandma or grandma-adjacent character in my books, but never a whole bunch of them. Ideas are suddenly percolating! Also, did you say elbows of time? Is that a thing? I like it. And I don’t have to have several drafting ideas planned in order before starting to draft something, but I had to have several things in various stages of revision before I started querying! This way I have lots of egg baskets, you know?

Loved hearing about these ideas and how they go together:) And I really feel what you talked about on branding! I have a deal for my first book which is actually coming out in ..two weeks(!!) That is middle grade, but I kinda identify as a YA author haha. And I have a lot more YA ideas. So I've been thinking about how to "branch out" once I'm done with my three cyborg girl books. But I liked what you said about having reoccuring themes! And everything I do is always about some weirdo, and the pov changes and someone is lying, so I guess that can be the brand rather than age group and genre. In Norway the same editors to both childrens' and YA books tho, so I'm hoping I can keep my editor! Anyway, I'm super excited for your projects, and I hope to read all of these someday^^

Okay, first off your earrings are ADORABLE. And now I need little daisies. Second, I think your street urchin/high society infiltration story sounds awesome. I’m a big fan of the mistborn series, so anything that fits those vibes is just…awesome. Third and maybe final, i plan the books, but I honestly can’t stick to it. I have to follow my mood for the stories I write. And if I’m not getting ideas for it or not vibing I can’t mentally make it work. So I have at least a dozen projects in various stages of production that may never actually get done 😩
@LindsayPuckett3 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's abnormal, though! "As of the Year of Our Lord..." LOL I am deceased. Funny, I caught Alexa's stream today and my next thought was "now all I need is Lindsay" and BLAM here you are. Yayyyy! Hahaha SSS is the acronym of my currently-on-hold little business, that is hilarious. 😂 Yeah, fall is coming way too fast, but that means The Glass Witch will be here soon and I'm here for it. Suuuuper psyched to hear some fantasy is coming though, that is my JAM. Gimme! (S.O.B. stop I can't even) Thanks for sharing your pitches by the way; I'm terrible at those and examples are so nice to see/hear. I doubt you will have aaaaaany trouble selling these bad boys. All your upcoming projects sound pretty darn great. Personally I can't plan out my stories ahead like that bc I get distratSQUIRRELed and I already have trouble finishing things, *sooo* ... Instead I jot down whatever weird ideas I have to come back later and throw in a pot to hopefully make something decent out of. However, since my draft at the moment is (hopefully) going to be a series, I'm planning those out very loosely with notes and ideas as they come so I can track it all and not have someone pop out of the woodwork like "BUT IN BOOK 3 YOU SAID HER EYES WERE GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN, WHAT ELSE HAVE YOU *LIED* ABOUT?!" Muchos love for you Lindsay, you're a bright spot in my day! Or night, as the case may be. ❤
