This is badass. My dream car is like a throwback to the early 80s late 70s muscle cars with black interior with a retro futuristic dashboard like this. NICE WORK

@daviblight True. The first design was commissioned as a semi-realistic electric vehicle interface. The second was commissioned as a no holds barred, flight of fantasy sci-fi display, with the primary focus being that it looked futuristic rather than functional/practical.

I 've always been designing GUIs futuristic transport, architecture, people, clothing, armour, robots. I've only really been doing it on paper though. Inspirational work sir! I have subscribed!

That is crazy on the first GUI. The time changes to 13:43 (0:16) and then when the car slows down it actually reverses time to 13:42 (0:19). I knew time travel would be possible. Seriously though I'm just jealous.

@corey1845 If you had no other options, then yes, it is possible. Photoshop has basic vector drawing capabilities (pen tool, etc), so you can create graphical shapes using it.

@AstonJayLee The actual animations can be created in Flash or After Effects (check other online tutorials on how to do transitions, tweening etc, as they will give you the answers) but the predominant factor is about being creative, and exploring some interesting designs. Good luck.

Looks cool, if you're flying a spaceship. Anyone can design the visuals for this kind of UI. It's the thought you put into it that counts. You really gotta think about the experience as a driver and tell me how any of what you're seeing above is easy to read or isn't distracting. Theres nothing that guides the eye, everything looks the same due to the colour tone. A lot of the text just bleeds in with the colour due to lack of contrast. It's just a piece of eye candy that's actually complete useless when you look at it from a design point of view. and don't get me wrong, visually it looks beautiful. Functionally it's not nearly as useful as all crammed in features make it seem.

swatski87 They were designed and illustrated in Adobe Illustrator, animated in Adobe Flash, and final adjustments/tweaks were made in Final Cut Pro.

+Tristaneus It certainly would be possible to make it in After Effects. In fact it would likely be easier - I didn't have access to AE at the time of making this, so ended up animating it in Flash instead.

WAY to busy! why would I need my seat adjustment represented in the dash UI?! If the car is driving, Driver hindering actions, such as; calibration, I/O settings, technical..etc, should not be visible to the driver. That information can be displayed in Neutral. The UI is peppered with small irrelevant bits of information. RPM and Temperature should not be at the same level of importance. ETC ETC. Here is a prime example of how this UI fails; There is an icon of a gas/fuel pump to represent gas/fuel obviously...but next to it... we have the word "Fuel"! Redundant irrelevant composition of information. The designer just wanted a bunch of data displayed to look cool but would not be a good functional UI for a driver.

heh, Yeah I know about that, Just havent done it. Adverts normally dont worry me. But WoT has no idea, I actually play the game and put up with hundreds of bugs and design floors. But I dont expect to put up with buggy software from them outside of this game. They are truly hopeless and have no idea how to make solid software. I keep telling them they should fire the Dev team and hire homeless people to do it. This earns me a 3 day chat ban every time. Cheers :)
