To be fair, the "your opponent can play around incineroar" also means your opponent is restricted to not fully develope their bench just to avoid Incineroar hitting for 1 or 2 energies. I see that as a win for the incineroar player. Also, this kind of situation also happens with Entei and Raikou and they are core pieces of their respective decks (although, they have the bonus of drawing each turn). Sadly echoing horn is rotating, but Erika's Invitation, while not as effective, is still an option for Incineroar

Just think about the Iron Hands EX getting the boost from the Iron Crowns. With a full bench you could be getting 220 dmg on a extra prize knock outs, which would be insane. Since it is a future pokemon it would fit right in the deck.

I think you’re a bit too harsh on Scizor- not because of the stats, but because of its surroundings. Mainly, it has a free retreat Scyther, the OBF Punishing Scissors Scizor, and the Rout Kleavor. Alongside the Metang, this ex has good supporting cards. I would instead give this a 3 or 4 out of 10

Won’t know until it comes out but a 3 on incin is crazy imo! Even if your opponents decide not to bench things or use weaker attacks you’re still forcing them to play your game which can be very beneficial imo. Also a lot of decks fill up the bench regardless. I feel no way lost Tina is gonna have less than 3 mons on bench. Either way you restrict them or get an attack for 1 fire

I’m sure this has already been said but I think you’re missing the point of incineroar. Imagine playing zard with a 1 of litten. You fill up ur bench to ur hearts content, but your opponent must decide whether to play around it or not, potentially giving you an edge at different stages throughout the game. The may also gust it trying to eliminate the problem, giving you more time to set up cards that matter and boosting zard dmg for losing prizes. On the other side if they ignore it, you have a solid 1 energy attacker.

I think your sleeping on the ideas behind incineroar, the point yu made about opponents playing around it’s attack are valid but what about Relicanth? You could use the kitten attack which does 20 for each damage counter on the Pokémon for 1 energy. Ideally you are not going to get OHKO if the opponent isn’t playing I to all of its outs by limiting its board so say yu get hit by a Charizard for 180 (230 with the rigid band) then the next turn yu can hit back for 360 and KO if yu have the relicanth. It’s scary to think about

Instead they will play it alongside (most likely) Charizard ex or Gouging Fire ex as a Alternate Attacker or a second threat so opponents will be forced to make a decision of which one they need to deal with first with both choices being probably bad choices in the long run.

I’ll personally be playing Ancient Box. Sandy Shocks ex, Sada and Raging Bolt ex are really good at accelerating energy. Multiple energies invites challenges but if you’re sourcing them all from the discard pile then it should be as inconsistent as Lost Box sometimes is with running more than 3 energy types

Help me here please. Im new to the game, long term pokefan, competative Sun and Moon game player, and rebudding collector. I also played a lot of Yu-gi-oh. In my mind I dont see the problem with Gengar. He has passive attrition. He damages and raises cost passively. Doesnt he add a lot of efficacy to poison and burn effects, stopping reatreats sometimes through the raised cost? Or belaying strategies at least. Couldnt he be a star in stall and burn decks? He also softens tagets with little effort. He seems like a great arena hazard

Hello! And I’m glad you’re having fun getting into the pokemon TCG. The further you get into the game the more you will see that the meta has been centralized around large attacks that can take big ohkos and disrupting your opponent / dealing residual damage just isn’t a very strong strategy in the pokemon TCG right now. Poison and burn decks don’t really exist in the competitive space because there are always decks that can just ohko things with less effort.

I had my season 2 city league event yesterday in Japan. I know its only about 1 week into rotation here, but 4 of my 5 matches were against charizard, the other was goldengo lol. The winner was a roaring moon lost box variant, and runner up was chien pao. I didnt see many future or ancient decks around, but maybe ppl were just going with what they are used to playing with some poffins and prime catchers splashed in.

Hey i don't know if this would be good but iron hands ex and greedent vmax if your opponent plays one ex or v use iron hands then when your opponents ex or v is down to 30 or less then switch cart use turn a profit move on greedent then boss's to a another ex or v if they have one on their bench or play a then switch cart if they have a staged pokemon then iron hands and then reseach energys and use flaffy for dynamotor and use ultra balls the game could end fast if you play the cards right i just thought this would be such a good combo

Brambleghast's damage output is actually a little better than 50% for 160 or more. The odds of 2 heads or more is 11/16, or 68.75%. I mean, youre still relying on coin flips...so I dunno if it's much more viable from that. Maybe someone will find a busted way to play it.

I think you’re really underrating incineroar ex. Not every deck can afford to hold back on filling their bench. The threat of incineroar ex can act as a floodgate that allows you to get ahead. How can Lost Box get going if they’re not flooding their board with comfeys to get their engine going? You say cramorant will get an attack in, but if they’re not filling their bench, that’s not gonna happen early at all. Garde is always flooding the bench, miraidon, roaring moon, even mew and lugia. Just because they can play around it, doesn’t mean that it’s a self inflicted wound that will slow them down hard.
