@@Deguello23 The difference between his speaking voice and singing voice is so drastic too. It's...kinda magical to me, the way he sings. And knowing he's from a place not too far away from where I live gives me so much secondhand pride. He's so cool.
@Deguello234 жыл бұрын
@@em_birch I get it:) I had my mind blown a little when I saw him on an episode of "what's in my bag" and he he turned out to be an old hip-hop head. I even have a few friends like that, that just don't radiate that at all but can really geek out on old hip-hop. I'm not really like that, but stuff like that always makes me a much bigger fan of an artist, when they're grazing places you'd never suspect.:)
@em_birch4 жыл бұрын
@@Deguello23 Yeah. Sam's relatable to me in other ways. You're right about those little, human things making us feel closer to musicians and artists (not in a weird way). Those connections are important too, imo. Especially with more of us being isolated now. We can see ourselves in these people, in some ways. We feel less alone.

This song will always remind me of the 5 days I spent away from you in Oklahoma. You found this song and told me to listen to it, that it made you think of me and miss me. The first time I listened to it I cried. Its 6 months later and even though you chose a different path, away from me, I will always love you and think of you when I hear it. ❤ Update: We couldn't stay away from each other. We will celebrate our 4th year on 08/04/20. We saw Future Islands in concert together and still consider them to be one of "our bands". Update #2: I lost my sweetheart on March 30, 2024. Liver failure. I found him in our bed when I got home from work. He was my first love and best friend. I will always love him and think of him when I hear Future Islands. ❤️

This is a very powerful video for a lot of personal reasons. Sam was actually in leg braces for much of his young life. But one time he had to outrun a truck full of bullies and the leg braces broke off. From that point on, he was runnin'. Also played football at Alabama and started a successful shrimp boat fleet. Still loves to run.

It saddens me that this band doesn’t get the rightful recognition it deserves, a great band-nonpareil.

its crazy seeing all these places in the video and recognizing them, and now associating them with this song. this is Baltimore and Baltimore county, super glad this band is based here

Ingest, where it goes, nobody sees but me So perfect and so sweet But the rest, feels incomplete Like the rabbit's foot I keep In the locket, with no key And I can't take it, I can't take this world without This world without you I can't take it, I can't take it on my own On my own On these roads Out of love, so it goes How it feels when we fall, when we fold How we lose control, on these roads How it sings as it goes Flight of field, driving snow Knows the cold Ran round the wailing world And what's a song without you? When every song I write is about you When I can't hold myself without you And I can't change the day I found you On these roads Out of love, so it goes How it feels when we fall, when we fold How we lose control, on these roads How it sings as it goes Flight of field, driving snow Knows the cold Out of love, so it goes How it feels when we fall, when we fold How we lose control, on these roads How it sings as it goes Flight of field, driving snow Knows the cold Ran round the wailing world
