I had an 09’ CTS-V but mine had an automatic transmission. I haven’t shifted in 20 years and I’m not gonna start back up again. The acceleration is phenomenal. I own a 2009 CTS-V sedan with a manual transmission and absolutely love it, one of the most underrated/overlooked vehicles in my opinion. It's a great blend of speed and luxury (granted, not nearly as refined as most European vehicles) without breaking the bank in terms of price point, maintenance/service, parts/mods, etc. Currently undergoing an extensive build at the moment (416ci, Kong 2650, E85 w/ nitrous, etc.) and the idea of making >500hp stock let alone 4 digit horsepower figures in a 2-ton Cadillac sedan truly makes the CTS-V a modern-day sleeper.

This car represents the crescendo of the era when Cadillac pulled itself out of near extinction in the early 2000s by reinventing itself with complete focus on engineering. Unfortunately, they slowly went back to their old ways. This CTS was made on the Sigma II platform which was designed from the ground up for this car. The first generation SRX, for example, was an excellent SUV winning many awards. It was designed by Cadillac and exclusively for Cadillac (Sigma I). For the second generation in 2010 GM decided to cut costs and build it on the Epsilon platform. In other words, they reskinned a Malibu. WTH Cadillac?!

@@jeffyoder8105 They never lost that status. They were probably the most comfortable cars ever, even better than the Rolls (The bud vases being the only thing lacking). That generation of CTS-V was the fastest production sedan around Nürburgring for six months... until Porsche stuffed turbos in the Panamera. I love the V's. I've had two, and hope to keep the current one as long as possible. As to the "four-door Corvette" the car does handle very well for as heavy as it is. Corvette is obviously lighter and more nimble, but the chasis for the V is awesome.

I fully intend to one day own a CTS-V wagon with a manual, they're just the coolest damn thing in history to me as a GM guy and certainly among the last of its breed forever. I had the chance to drive a manual sedan, and was just amazed at how easy it was to drive VERY irresponsibly, one of the few cars I've ever driven that I think I might've been actually competitive with on track (I don't race, so I could be wrong, but I like to drive and am good at it, and I was FAST in that car despite not knowing the car at all). Just a brilliant swan song, in my opinion, for fast, V8, manual transmission, comfortable, American cars that an American can be proud of and that truly was on par with anything else out there. And available in a wagon for weirdos like me, haha!

Had a couple of Jeeps under the Renault ownership . Then bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee LX . The car still runs great today as it always has blasting down from the Netherlands to Switzerland . Only thing I have changed is the oil, one water pump ,and brakes even the tyres last . Fabulous build quality no rattles or faults . More comfortable than anything other than a Bentley or Rolls Royce. Nothing from Europe compares to the quality and comfort of that jeep Grand Cherokee LX. Obviously I use a modern diesel now as it is too expensive to run on a long trip or as a daily run about . However everyone I know wants to buy it , due to its fabulous performance and comfort .
