@MrGaryGG485 жыл бұрын
How many "regular persons" do you actually think take the time to watch Jay Leno's car videos. I would suspect he has a pretty well focused group and they're mostly gear-heads. To the "regular persons," the modern car is little more than a "transportation device." The modern car ranks right up there with a really nice refrigerator, or a washing machine with 27 buttons on it that really look cool... well to someone who wants a "really cool" washing machine, that is just special. ;^(
@MrGaryGG485 жыл бұрын
I guess maybe I should have been a bit more discrete with that "fridge-comment!" I think mine may have overheard me Friday night. It died some time in the afternoon and by the time I got home from a "business meeting" everything had thawed out! The service tech won't be here until tomorrow... Tuesday!!! Damn, these new appliances are touchy! The ads keep talking about a "smart this thing" or a "smart that thing..." I'm just not convinced that all that smartness is a very good idea. Maybe I need a dumb old fridge that keeps the steaks frozen and the beer cold. I'm just a simple man; I don't need all that smartness!!
@johnlloydclayton71925 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I love Cadillac, but their marketing is (and has been) their weakest point. The Engineers put out an absolutely stellar product and then the marketing team has no idea what to do with it and nobody knows about it. For example, everybody knows about Tesla's autonomous driving, but ask most people about "Super Cruise" and they say, "huh?"

Now I've followed Cadillac's racing team since its inception. So I've seen what their race cars can do. But to see where their platform begins was eye opening. These cars are FAST! I was over 140 down the straights in each car by the end of the day. Faster groups got well over 150! And I never got tense or worried about what would happen next. And I'm not even an amateur class racer. These things are rock soild, stable as iron, and brakes that never heard of fade. Thank You Cadillac for a Bucket List Day!

60 year old Australian here. I think there is a lot of Australian influence in this car, without it I dont think it would exist. Yer see Australia has always been caught between the dual cultural influence of the USA and the UK/Europe exposing us to the best (and worse) of both. In the 60s and early 70s American cars were highly admired in many ways here - style, power, ruggedness.. but so were European cars - for different reasons - effeciency, handling, sophistication, economy. The dual influences led to us developing local cars (Holden (GM) Commodore/ Ford Falcon) that over the years evolved into something unique that combined both.. And what you have there in that type of Cadillac is the end result of where that path led. When the financial crisis and bailout at General Motors happened in 2008 GM, I believe, turned to the then succesful products of its Australian subsidiary, Holden - and took key Australian staff back to the US (including the guy who then headed Cadillac at that time) and went to work on developing US versions. One group influences another group and I think that happened here, the USA is huge and can be inward looking - normally its influence flows outwards and certainly did to Australia, but credit where credit is due. Sadly due to misguided government policy Holden and Ford ceased local production in subsequent years but hopefully a little of the legacy lives here. The Caddy is a beautiful car, and to tell the truth - I think we would love to see some Right Hand Drive versions over here.

Frank Newberry They might not be worried, but they're definitely not happy. The CTS-V has been impeccably engineered- a 0-60 in 3.4, reaches 200mph! with essentially the same engine as a ZR1, yet is a luxury sedan that goes toe to toe with the M5! Pretty apparent Cadillac figured it out 😃
@DolleHengst7 жыл бұрын
The performance and handling are most impressive, arguably best in industry. But why is it that every Cadillac has some serious flaw? Like the interior quality, or a crappy multimedia system? Or the lack of several luxury features compared to the Germans. A Mercedes E63 AMG S isn't as sharp or fast as this Caddy. But it doesn't fall short in anything. It does everything at a very high level. Same with BMW. Can't say that about Cadillac. If you want speed and sheer thrills, buy the Caddy. If you want speed, thrills combined with luxury and refinement, buy the Benz AMG

I just got the previous gen 2012 V with only 10k miles. I LOVE IT. Best car I've ever owned. So i bet these are even better. And the best part of caddys is you can always find them used with like no miles on them from older people who barely use em.

Loving my 2019 CTS-V, just traded in my 2012 CTS-V on it, which I also loved....I traded in my 2008 CTS for that one. I am, however, very heartbroken that Cadillac will not be making the CTS-V any longer, but so glad we got one from the last year. Cadillac, this is an amazing car....I don't know what you are thinking!!!

yeah i got a 18 grey metallic edition, traded in my camaro ss with bolt ons... this is the best car ive ever been in and ive been in royces and bentleys ...they just didnt sell unfortuantely, but they will definitely be future classics ... i bought one as soon as i saw that the next gen was getting the lt4 and not the black wing v8, and ct5 will have even less power (630hp)

they are expensive sure but they are attainable. nowadays it forces you to save up or to finance one but try and avoid financing something like that

wish I knew how harsh financing was before I got my 2012 gt500. it's paid off now but it was tough. It got to the point where I wanted to git rid of it. It's a hobby for the rich.

+Patrick Pelletier a wagon? fuckouta here smh
@patrickpelletier63158 жыл бұрын
Daniel De La Rosa yea a fucking wagon. If you pulled up to the lights and there was a 2 door CTS-V you'd notice it and realise its a fast car. The wagon, you'd probably overlook the car even though its as fast as the 2 door. So if i were you id be quiet. A wagon doesnt attract as much attention (aka sleeper) and in most cases it's not that much slower than the 2 door variants. I guess you just think having a impractical 2 door sports car you can only drive on occasions is more fun than the practical wagon variant you can always drive
@Bimmerboyyyyyy8 жыл бұрын

Nice, but for 94K off the lot, no thanks. I will wait for a certified pre-owned warrantied one that is about 3 years old and under 30K miles for about half the price or less.

yeah its not like an impala where everyone and their mother is buying them in three years they will probably still be around 65 to 80k and in 10 years they might even start to appreciate
@vernonprice59868 жыл бұрын
Yeah good luck with that. You might want to look up used CTS-V pricing on autotrader before assuming they depreciate badly.
@Stalicone8 жыл бұрын
It took me over a year to find the used CTS V that I wanted. The production numbers are lower than Shelby Mustangs. Plus finding one with low miles (24k in my case) that hasn't been modified or abused on the track is a real challenge.

Jay, Thanks for testing the new CTS-V. I took my mom to Cadillac this week and saw the new CTS-V in the showroom. Very nice car. If it was not for the price, I would probably buy one. Most definitely something to be proud of that's made in America. Good job Cadillac! Also, ran across a few youtube videos of late night drag racing. looks like the tuners are tweaking these cars and getting over 1k horsepower out of them. This car is truly the Ferrari of of automobiles.
