Wow i love this movie. good motive? did you miss the part where he constantly lies to his wife then abandons his family in the care of another man without their knowledge just so he could go off and die alone leaving his dreams of becoming an artist unfulfilled? doesn't seem too wholesome to me. if given the choice, I'm sure his wife would prefer to live with the pain of losing her husband than to be lied to and left with a clone.

@@lukeoutcold7187 - I say it how I see it. his wife would be so angry and hurt if she knew he had been lying to her for so long about his illness only to replace himself with a skin-job without her knowing, he's a soy popping simp, flexing some virtuous victimhood, leaving his family in the care of another man so he can go off to die alone, like a cuck, without even fulfilling his lifelong dream of being an artist, all because he doesn't want to hurt his poor wife's feelings. it's not a story of honor or love, it is a story of selfish betrayal and denial. if given the choice I'm sure his wife would prefer to support her husband through his seizures and be there in his arms when he died and live with the pain of losing him, rather than be manipulated and surveyed and tested by a major medical company and unknowingly making love with a clone. ew, ...and how long before the clone develops the same terminal disease? they are genetically identical and at the same age. so if his illness is not personal environmental based, like lung cancer, it's only a matter of time before the clone dies too. yes, I watched the video

That was actually a nice clone movie for a change. It depicted going through the motions of carrying out a selfless and yet not so selfless act for one's family. his main character flaw in the movie was he wasn’t good at communicating he wouldn’t talk with his wife about andre, never talked about how his parents divorce affected him, and it was pointed out that if he told his wife about the first “dizzy spell” he could have lived; but if he told his family they couldn’t get the clone. Exactly. By keeping it secret he dies alone. If the truth ever came out later, the family will feel betrayed and reject the clone. The thing that would really happen is the clone would join the family and take a back seat to the original and assist him and the family with preparing for his passing and morning him after he's gone. I'd rather watch that movie.
@sueprice33158 ай бұрын
This is the point, the moral issues raised by the movie. I've seen people comment the movie was stupid because they are conditioned to expect a "twist" and there wasn't one. They've totally missed the point. The story is straightforward to make people think about issues like you raise. Would you want your spouse to do this to you? Is it morally OK even if you don't know the difference? His justification was that his wife had never recovered from her brother's death, and he didn't want to give her another tragedy. And he wanted his son to grow up with a father. That's what he is deciding as a Family Man. But does the end justify the means? He is making a huge sacrifice: he spends his last days alone, without his family, so his wife and son and still have "him", their husband/father.

Also that whole “she abandoned us” convo between hack and cam. it also clicked when at the end the real cam was in bed saying bye to poppy and he said “i drifted”. she just kissed him and reassured them that they were happy. i think she knew already. which is believable because poppy was always smarter than cam knowing things that he didn’t know she knew (like the train chocolate echo seen). just a theory of mine

I think a cool twist that isnt "clone bad" or "dr scott actually evil?" would be that Cameron isn't human and is already a clone himself. The original cameron has died long before this movie started and cloning only delays the illness which is why Cameron has it still.
@troyfoster60042 жыл бұрын
@BroMomento69 I also thought the twist was going to be that Cameron would find out he was a clone and wasn't the original Cameron. Dr. Scott spoke of three clones. He was going to find out he had been Clone No. 1, but the attempt to fix his medical condition had failed and then, naturally, he came back to clone himself again, not knowing he himself was the first clone. Glen Close's character seemed bossy and spoke with urgency that this had to happen. I felt like she was desperately trying to fix her mistake.

Tbf cloning is already a thing and most diseases that would cause seizures are very difficult to deal with bc they affect the brain

Not that far fetched. We have clone tech now and cancer is one hell of a bitch to treat. Its one of the few illnesses where you can't just remove an external cause. It's your own body turning against you on a cellular level. And, while we can't cure it once its happened, we actually DO posses a few tools like CRISPER that would let you edit someone's genetic code to prevent it from happening. Its actually a bit of a controversy right now. We have whole branches of medical science devoted to studying things like stem cells and preventing genetic disorders like downs syndrome right NOW, but not only are they being denied funding but they are outright banned in many countries because they are considered ethically questionable. Hell, you would be amazed on how hard it is to get impartial studies done on something as simple as the physiological and developmental differences between sexes because of how political the topic has become in the last thirty years.

So the question I would think about is that how does he know that he's not one of these clones? I'm gonna guess that alot of the people in the kovie are clones

Movie title is Swan Song? Cool! Added to my list. However, the title DOESN'T really evoke the word scifi. GREATastic movie review! YOU'RE AWESOME! BEST REGARDS!
