Is this video old? There was a lot a misinformation on this video that doesn't tell you what is happening with the Fisker Ocean. For example, the Fisker Ocean is being built by magna steyr. A company that has years of experience building cars. Also I want to take a quick moment to emphasize that electric cars are mainly portable blenders integrated with an IPAD. So repairs should really be minimal. Also Fisker warranties his batteries for 10 years.

What is he talking about? I gladly paid the additional 5k because I wanted the Ocean One and was committed on owning one. Had I wavered on my decision, I'll have to pay a lot more to get the same trim, packages and options. He made it sound like that all reservations now require a 5k non refundable deposit. And this video is about a half-year late.

The $5000 non refundable deposit is for a binding contract, as it is required to qualify for the $7500 federal tax credit. You didn't get the story straight. Of course, this is only for serious buyers only, and guess what? It's already sold out for the Ocean One!!

The information is very outdated. The $5,000 USD reservation fee is only for the Ocean One special edition. I have never been asked by Fisker for anything other than the $250 USD I put down last year for my wife's Fisker Ocean Ultra SUV reservation. People who buy Tesla EVs also don't ever sat inside a Tesla, and not knowing if the conditions will be good or not when they receive their Teslas. Are you a Tesla fan trying to mock at other EV startups? What is your intention for this video with much outdated info.? I currently drive a Model X, I'd never sat inside another Tesla before I made my FULL PAYMENT of $130,000 usd for the car. My wife is getting her Fisker Ocean Ultra SUV too.

Asking for significant pre-order non-refundable deposits for a "Launch Edition" BEV is standard practice for BEV startups, and established legacy automotive OEMs. Lucid and GM had similar policies for their launch edition Air sedan and Hummer EV pickup truck respectively. Their greater challenge will be obtaining sufficient funding to scale production to profitablity. This will be made more difficult by higher interest rates, a risk-off fiscal environment, ineligibility for the US EV tax credit/rebates and forthcoming lower cost competition in USA and Europe from Tesla, BYD, Ford, Volkswagen, GM, and other Chinese BEV OEMs (e.g., Geely/Volvo/Polestar, Neta, Xpeng, NIO, etc.)

This is the result of not having any resellers and only sell online, I guess. And being a new company. The buyers are expected to finance the production, and if it fails You end up without a car and without that deposit. Crazy. With dealing with a reseller and having ordered a car suited for only my expectations, I sign and execute the financing when the car is delivered. Not risking any money. Am I right or wrong? Wonderful car. I really want one. Will probably order one, but not if there is a non-refundable deposit.

It was done to make sure to be eligble for the $7500 tax credit. It had to be a contract with a non-refundable deposit. So there are people who do get the tax credit (like me) ;-)

Fisker won't be able to make the car at the listed price. They contract out the production to Magna and the batteries to Chinese company CATL. They can't control their costs. Time will tell.

1) Only the first 5,000 Ocean "ONES" had to put down $5,000 and all 5,000 reservations were placed within 1 week. 2) How are you going to repeat your same argument twice for the whole 5 minutes of the video. 3) the ocean has over 65,000 reservations 4) The $37,500 price is sustained as of the last earnings call 2/25/2023 5) MAGNA has said they can build 20 Oceans a day, and are on target to produce 42,000 oceans in 2023. 6) Fisker inc. will be profitable its first year of sales unlike Rivian and Lucid. 7)This channel has proven it in itself is a RED FLAG, and YOU the viewer shouldn't watch these misinformation videos.
