I don't think IGN has ever played a Mario and Luigi game for more than 30 minutes. The huge amount of dialogue is the whole Point of these RPG's. If you don't want to read, why even play it in the first place? All things aside, love this game so far. Can't wait to come back from work tomorrow and keep playing. Absolute Gem!

Yeah but that combined with the mass amount tutorials just leads to constant stops in an otherwise solid experience. Plus they constantly treat you like you have goldfish memory like you are playing 30 minutes at a time every other week. Don't get me wrong the game is good and I am having fun but pretending like it couldn't have been better is a little disingenuous

I just came back from the flower island and I already love the game. Honestly, my only issues are that Luigi feels less controllable and the FPS are sadly dropping down at times. But other than that, the game is beautiful and so creative. They absolutely nailed the artstyle imo. The dialogue is goofy as heck and the animations are filled with personality just like the rest of the game!!!

As a newer player to the Mario/Luigi series, my biggest complaint is that it feels like it hand holds too much. I also agree with the dialogue as well. It gets a bit repetitive. Still enjoying it 20 hours in though

I think its pretty crazy that people are so lenient on nintendo games. I dont think we need to be hyper critical but the game is unusually snappy and in a negative way during combat. There is too much dialogue and hand holding that gets in the way of actually playing the game. Enemies are recycled pretty much as soon as possible. The games visual and combat aspects are great and fun. Overall i think the game would do well to include legacy controls and a hard mode that removes tutorials and shortens up timing windows. For me its a solid 7/10

I can’t comment on the game in it’s entirety as I haven’t beaten it yet, but as a newcomer to the series, apart from slightly repetitive combat, im having a lot of fun. Not too easy, not too hard, some decent puzzles and bosses. I’d give it like an 7.5/10

​@greenbeanguy253 "All"? Look. Bowser's Inside Story and Superstar Saga (specially the remake) are solid entries. Dream Team suffers from the same pacing issues and overall, I find it less interesting (imo) than Brothership, and Partners in Time, love it to death since it was my first, isss criticized for valid reasons, like the Bros. Attack system and the pacing on the final stretch of the game. As for Paper Jam........... Nah. I would place it around the same spot as Superstar Saga or higher. Bowser's Inside story I feel IS overrated, BUT for good reasons. It's overloved but I still give it the 1st place anyway so who cares.

Just finished the game, not gonna spoil but imo its a 9/10, only wished it 'd pick up the pace earlier, but thats most m&l games... and the end nearly had me tear up ngl, not gonna say anything else

I think he means you can't make Luigi jump above gaps anymore, he has to do it on his own (or else he stops moving when you make him jump) to prevent the player messing up the timing. Since Mario is no longer blocked by Luigi, Luigi falling would separate them, so he jumps over them on his own to make sure he doesn't fall.

You can jump as luigi but now you don't have to and if you do you risk desyncing luigis ai resulting in loss of progress at the worst or yet another tiny stop that this game is already full of 😊

So far 1 hour in it's so boring. Dialog is lame. Game play seems so dull. Hopefully some good battles or bosses come up soon. But so far really boring
