I “discovered” Future Islands two weeks ago after Samuel T. Herring appeared as a celebrity Premier League pundit on BBC Sport. He sounded like a cool dude so I checked out his music... glad I did! Unbelieveable, so poignant and uplifting. I would never have expected to find something so meaningful musically in the sports pages. Now I’ve explored the back catalogue and this track (the newest) is my favourite. Just goes to show folks, if you get a recommendation from a friend or a hunch, follow it up. Dont know if they still come out and interact conversate/pics with their fans before they perform but I have taken pictures and had conversations with Samuel in 3 different shows in Los Angeles. He's so cool and likes to interact with his fans. In the latest shows I haven't had the chance to see if he still does that cuz I've been showing up when they are about to perform but will definitely try to show up earlier nxt time and hope to catch another pic with Samuel/FutureIslands just gotta be there early... Samuel once got me and my friend in a SOLD-OUT show in a small venue in Eagle Rock/Los Angeles Ca. He came out right before the show began and got everyone that couldn't get tickets to go in. It was about 15 of us outside hoping to get in and SAmuel saved the freaking night...

@@zetino4 I had a similar experience back in 2012 or so. Was hanging out front of the venue with my friend when a guy walks up and lights up a cigarette and starts talking to us. It took me a minute to realize who he was, and he stayed and talked with us for ten minutes or so. Even offered us one of his own hand-rolled cigarettes. This was a couple of years before their famous Letterman appearance and subsequent boost in fame, so I have no idea if he still does it, but it was great meeting him like that.

I Will never forget when I was outside trying to find tickets to SOLD-OUT show in Eagle Rock CA in 2014 with no luck with about 15 others also trying to get in when Samuel comes out about 20 minutes before he sets to perform and saves the day.. He asked us a couple of questions and he tells the security something and the security opens the doors and lets us all in... LOVE FUTURE ISLANDS
