My Fuze Card Died Recently. I was able to reach support and they should be sending me out a replacement after I send mine in.
3rd Quarter of 2018 is the latest estimate on when the EMV enabled card will be released here in the US.

It took between 1.5 to 2 weeks to get the replacement back. I had to re-add all my cards, membership cards but so far so good.

At this point it’s safe to say this is not going to happen for us in the US or anywhere it isn’t already in. Tap to pay and NFC payments have taken over everywhere.

Hi Mick, You can try holding 1st and 2nd button to check and connect mobile app via Bluetooth and update firmware.

Chiva, I tried every tip available from Fuze at the time but the card was non-responsive. My replacement is working well so far though. Will keep everyone posted though.

I'm real anxious for this technology. I got burned on the Plastc campaign. I also bought the Wocket way back. It sorta worked, but big and bulky. Anyway, thanks for the video.

I got burned with Coin. My brother got burned with Plastc (I almost did too, but I remembered my COIN experience). Wocket was too cumbersome, so I didn’t go that route. So far, this has been the best sustaining e-Card. I worry about the actual longevity of the card and warranty support though, but they did replace the card when it went dead. I’m also conflicted about recommending something that could still end up being vaporware here in the states. I say as before, wait and see come Q3 whether or not they make it through the red tape surrounding this industry into the market with the CHIP card. And then make sure there is a 1 year warranty included with the card. For now though, I am finding more uses for the eCard (barcode, MoviePass, gift cards, membership cards) so I’m enjoying it while it lasts. Thanks for the comment, Mike

I have same problem, I left it for 2 years not using it, now it does not charge. But I figured out something. Maybe contacts become oxidized and when I push it downwards when card is in changer it shows as charging, but it is still dead...

Also my eCharger shows red light and never becomes green when I charge it.

Thanks Dennis. I'm sure it'll all get sorted out. I do hope all the people that backed the original crowd funded campaign get what they pledged for by the end of the year though. I know patience is running thin.

I had the same issue with the deaf card. I had to plug the card in to the echarger a few times. I finally got it working by plugging my echarger into a USB port and then the card into the echarger. It came back to life. It was dead for a week before I figured to try that out.

The comments on their Indiegogo page are...interesting. The company is apparently relying on using "fallback" to make the case for EMV use, but card issuers and networks are phasing this out. (Fallback meaning if the chip doesn't read after three attempts a mag-stripe read is permitted). Also, they were supposed to provide an update on EMV at the end of September but now they're saying October. Personally, I'm fine with Apple Pay which I use for 95 percent of my card-present transactions now.

I *wish* I could use Apple Pay for everything, I'm just not there yet. Namely gas and restaurants. To be fair Fuze isn't the only one facing the EMV implementation and agreement issue. AFAIK nobody in this same category with EMV chips has successfully penetrated the market supporting multiple cards yet. I suggest that its still a wait and see, then decide if this is for you.

Mike Mu there's absolutely no reason to risk backing an Indiegogo with these guys. Anyone who wants a product like this should wait until after it's released and reviewed. I just don't see issuers being all that eager to risk the security of their private keys with these guys... Especially with their track record regarding their magstripe-only release. They've already been hacked, back in April of this year. I live in Silicon Valley so perhaps I'm in the sweet spot, but I am able to use Apple pay pretty much everywhere except my hair salon at this point. This week I used it at Safeway, Costco, Bank of America ATM, a cafe down the block from my place, the farmers market (vendors using the Square contactless/chip reader), booking a place on Airbnb, Starbucks, and Walgreens. Chevron was the first gas company to begin converting their AFDs to accept contactless (tap & pay) payments (I have my gas delivered through Filld usually) and I think you'll see this more often. The two newest restaurants that opened in my downtown are cashless and cheerfully accept tap & pay, where you either pay via an app on your phone, or the server brings the payment device to you. Giving your card to the server at the end of the meal will become a rarity.

Karen Canzoneri Thanks for the detailed reply. I used to be in Silicon Valley - before Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay, Android Pay came to be. It would make sense that there would be broad-er adoption up there, especially for Apple Pay by Cupertino. Down here in LA I have one Costco that activated the cardless payment feature, another I tried doesn't have it activated yet. I often ask when they might support, but most don't know or give a date in the future that never seems to come to fruition. Square is awesome. Been to exactly one sit-down place that supports it down in OC (I think it was through Clover) where they actually bring the machine/tablet over to process payment. I accept payment with Square NFC reader ( amzn.to/2xXpDsc ) for stuff I sell on Craigslist and its been used exactly twice in the almost two years I've owned it. So satisfying when it does since the buyer doesn't have to hand over cash in person, and I don't have to worry about walking around with all that cash till I can deposit it. As for Fuze, your advice is the same I had been giving. To wait and see first. And even then be wary as I've had a few backed projects like this that have gone belly up or sold out to another company (COIN comes to mind). I personally wasn't affected by the hack made public a few months ago, other than a firmware update later. At least for now my Fuze card is good for movies, library, membership cards, rewards cards, and potential backup. If I paid for this myself (this card was supplied to me by my brother, who did back the project), I'd have been really disappointed for the delay in the promised EMV card.

Mike Mu just as a disclosure I work for Visa HQ so I've been following this stuff since Coin and it facinates the crap out of me 😌 The payment space is so interesting as it touches everyone's lives today...I can see how people might want "one card for all their cards" if they're comfortable with that particular form factor, but we are moving so far beyond that now! Also it seems like a lot of money to pay for a payment option when it already comes on your phone for free. Paitence - it took 25 years for magstripe to overtake manual imprints and 20 years for EMV to become global - Apple pay (contactless/tokenization) is only 4 years old. Wait and see! I just don't think Fuze has demonstrated the security required by the networks and issuing banks. That's my opinion.

Contact their support with your purchase or backer information. After they confirm, they'll have you send it in for a replacement.

I'm using curve card it's a free card and you can put all your cards on the curve card and you don't need to charge the card either

I talked to them a while ago, and they said they were no longer looking to introduce chip card in the USA because it was too difficult to get past regulatory compliance. So they were moving forward with NFC only. But then... what's the point when iPhone has apple wallet, and Android has google pay, samsung pay, etc.?

There are ways to reset it. If you have access to your phone, that’s an easy way. If you have no phone and no PIN, you are out of luck.

Concerned about it going back to the company, no. More concerned about it (the card) being hacked. If anything they want to prove that they take security very seriously to have any hope of penetrating the US market. Looks like they aren't doing so well so far on this front.

@@MikeMu I generally have had worries sending phones back that I couldn't get to reboot. Which meant I was sending back a phone with a lot of info on it. I would be more concerned with sending all my credit card info... It's amazing how much trust we have.

John Salisz Oh yes, a phone is a completely different matter. It has everything! My Fuze Card pretty much now just has my Sinemia debit card, some reward cards, library cards, and the magnetic portions of some credit cards. If I do lose it, I just report it stolen to my credit card companies and they take care of it.

I have mentioned before in my first video that I thought the reader was finicky. Make sure that your volume is at maximum. Start with a fresh reboot of your phone. Close out all the apps, and try again and again and again. Good luck.

Ya, that's one of them alright. Although, they were the only ones that made it to mass market. I actually got to use it a few months before it went kaput.
