She looks in fine fettle . It's always a gamble buying any classic if you can't have a good prod and a look underneath . The interior would need restoring but these always drove well in the day . Someone will take this very collectable classic with a smile !

Fuzz must be one of the most polite affable men on tv. Him and Tim make a good double act 👍

Well done fuzz, mgbs, especially 1960s ones are great cars. I see there are still nearly 22000 mgbs registered with the dvla, Like most cars of the era rust is a problem and like most sporty cars lots were cut about and thrashed by boy racers in the 1980s and 90s.

Overdrive and sunroof are a must in that vintage. No vents in the dash make it sweltering in the Summer without a sunroof. Overdrive needed on any journey when you get over 60.

Had several MGBs and Gts back in the 60s and 70s but I never "bowled along" and overdrive was an essential. It's not hard to retrofit one from one that's rusted away. My first one 515JOK was purchased second hand from Richardsons of Pease Pottage and I wish I had it now!

Can you built in overdrive if it doesn’t have it already?

Looks like it would benefit from a power steering conversion

I would say you need the overdrive also you would have a good job to afford a mgb gt in the 60s they were not a cheap car

A new 1969 MGB GT was the first car I bought when I left the service. My wife and I loved that car. We owned it for 4 years .My wife cried when I sold it and got a Porsche 911 T which was a handful and too difficult to handle especially in the winter.

The float in the gas tank will deteriorate over time and will tend to sink and give you a false reading of empty or near empty.
