Bonds wasn't just one of the greatest baseball players in history he was incredibly misunderstood. His father was massacred by the media and he lived through the effects it had on his father off the field. I was at a charity event in the bay area and Bonds wasn't even scheduled to be there. He stayed and shook, hands and took pictures with people long after the event had ended with a huge smile the entire time. He couldn't stand the media but he loved the game and his fans. Watching him live was a memorable event every time. To the people that say "steroids" every other word his talent, eye and bat speed have nothing to do with any chemicals. Muscles don't hit homeruns, proficiency in the game and pure world class talent do that.

I put quotes are journalist because he was legally forbidden from writing stories about Ty Cobb due to writing slanderous hit pieces on Cobb.
