I realize this video is over a year old but hearing you and Joe say so many things that I have thought about in the past year as far as the "real people" out there that just enjoy taking a wrench to something that is dead, and making it live again is so refreshing. I live in a very small town here in southern Wisconsin and have a couple of neighbors near me that do it for the love of just doing it. One is in his 80's with a 56 Pontiac that he restored many years ago. I have inspired him to wake it up from its tomb and drive it again! He is so proud of it now, and with some help he is now ready to roll to the shows again and just sit back and enjoy the fruits of his labors again. The other is a feller one block down that now has a Pontiac Can Am that is almost complete. When he first got it, every time he would drive by he just had to squeal his tires to get my attention.... heheh, Same thing with his Trans Am. These are the guys that need to be heard and shown, as they are the heart of the community. Most of us really do know what we are doing, and have done, so that experience should be shared.... Heheh, I was a Pontiac Fiero nut (please, no dissing me, they were actually fun to work on and unique), and my knowledge of the Fiero helped my younger neighbor figure out the parking brakes on his Trans Am. The fine work that the shows on TV do as far as Riddler winners, etc. are appreciated, but dang, these guys are the soul. I guess that is why I love watching you and people like Vice Grip Garage..... heheh, he is so much like me when I was his age, and at 71 years old, but I am tempted to dip my toes back into that pond of rescue. I miss wrenching! Thanks Dan and Joe, and I will keep watching both of you!

VGG has contracted with the Discovery media monster via its automotive content wing “Motor Trend”……that’s the same company Dan got so fed up with he called it quits on his original TV series. Joe works on Garage Squad which is a series from the same giant media conglomerate I just mentioned. Highly doubtful Dan will wh*re himself out to that group of “leeches” (dan’s words) again.

Joe is a class act, I used to dream that I was part of Garage Squad, then I'd wake up and realize it didn't happen, Those were some good dreams being part of a group of people helping people get their old rides back in action. Truth be told, I never submitted my old car, I figured other people were more deserving. One of these days, I'll get a new set of tires on it, go through it freshening everything up along with a new convertible top and take it out again. It deserves to run.

I'm really happy to see you back on the air again for the benefit of those of us have been in the same business and quickly discovered that the fun of working on cars no matter what you were doing could all be ruined by one cheap customer who wants it perfect for less than $1,000 and that is for a paint job of the same quality as the ones that you have done for show and then never been beat in your classes plus some special "Best of" awards and want it back by the end of next week. Awesome first production and a fantastic first guest! I am a fan of both Joe and Dan (and evidently a poet! 😂) so I enjoy the replays of Garage Squad and Fantomworks Garage, on Motor Trend. Having never met either, I feel pretty safe in betting that Joe and Dan are both W. Y. S. I. W. Y. G. people. For those unfamiliar, the acronym 'WYSIWYG' stands for "What You See Is What You Get".... some reality shows are more convincing than others but I could see pretty quickly that these two are the real deal. Take 'em or leave 'em. I will take 'em! Darren PS: Joe, you could market your line of automobile mechanicin' humor T-shirts, as seen on 'Garage Squad'! I'd buy a few or more!

I love the Idea of having to shift your vehicle when racing I have a reverse pattern manual valve body in my 727 . I am currently building a new engine for my drag racing ice cream van. The old engine was a basic mopar 360 small block on a 250 shot of nitrous. It weights in at almost 5800lbs. It has run a 7.81 at 87mph. I was lucky enough to race it on tv on Stone Colds show racing him. The new engine will be a 408 small block mopar and will have a 2 stage nitrous system with250 on each stage. Hoping to get it into the 6's. Can't wait for both of your new shows.

Before we cut the cable, the only show on Velocity worth watching was Fantom - not presented with “all that jazz”, did not have a pretty girly bring parts to the mechanics, and most important, was upfront about how expensive restoring cars can be - it is not for the faint of heart. It’s interesting as the classic market has changed significantly over the last decade. I restored two original 62 Corvettes, one of which won every major award and was a Duntov car. I restored a 1969 Dodge Charger, which was a mistake. The shift has been to restore the car to “make it better” with more powerful engines, better breaking systems, etc. There are simply not enough original cars to restore and the market is flooded with many many counterfeits; for example, there are more fuel injected 62 Corvettes than were ever products in 62.❤

Hi Dan as I hae said in the past love the channel and Garage Squad was awesome as well. Will you be building cars like you were in the past. nevermind got the answer listng to the Pod Cost with Joe Currently I have major health issues going on without going into details it is stage 4 the big C colon cancer can't even work on cars anymore actually a relative is finishing my project for me so at least maybe I can get a drive in the completed car. It is a 94 Camaro Z28 it has the 2nd Generation LT1. I am just hoping I am around to see it finished. Smaller builds are better I agree. My all time favorite car is a 67 C2 Corvette could never afford one but they are awesome. Anyway I wish you all the best from up in here in Canada. We have some great channels up here as well but most don't do the fit and finish of FantomWorks.

I know what it takes to build cars out of a home garage. It is anything but easy, especially when you do all the work yourself except maybe the engine and trans, but, when I get the engine and trans back it's up to me to put them in the car! While I'm waiting for both, that's when I do the bodywork and paint. If the car is mine, I cut every corner I can because I don't have the money to have other shops do the work! Now I'm 74 and building cars from the ground up is literally impossible, so I have gone back to my first love, Harley-Davidson, and believe me they are anything but cheap!? I can still build a beautiful bike like a Bagger for under $10,000.00 and a bunch of energy drinks just to get them done! Lol!!
