GARAGE SQUAD'S JOE ZOLPER'S DAUNTLESS DAYTONA! STREET OUTLAWS NO PREPS KINGS! RT66 JOLIET!

Joe Zolper's '69 Dodge Daytona has made quite the stir on the internet when it was first revealed and garnered plenty of attention at the Street Outlaws No Prep Kings Season 3 event at RT66 Joliet. From it's blown 521ci Hemi to the beautiful destroyer grey paint and iconic black daytona wing it has that gotcha factor not to mention unique! Having only made a couple shakedown passes well before the event and now switching to larger rear slicks and a different suspension setup Joe had no idea what to expect on the no prep surface. Also of note in shakedown passes Joe was used to leaving on the yellow lights and never gave a thought at this event it was instant green. Well that's a problem seeing he can't see the green light with his hat sticking through the hood and when in the other lane the A pillar was in the way so he literally had to wait for the other guy to leave!! He joked about making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich at the tree before launching. They made some seat adjustments and by the fourth run he was able to cut a light but as Joe said he's just out to make a couple passes and have some fun and that he did making four passes before blowing a burst panel ending his night. You can bet Joe will sort it all out and be back in full force as he plans to compete in the next No Prep King in Norwalk. #dauntlessdaytona #joezolper #noprepkingsrt66

Well, considering that there was only 2 full passes on the Car before this event im pretty happy with my car. Also I can cut down a tree! BUT! I couldn't see the instant green in my car until we made seat changes before last round. So the question for you haters is where's your car and where were you?! 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤔🤔🤣🤣

when i was 9, my brother took us to the dealer show lot, in lincoln ne. they had one inside on the show room floor. growing up in north platte, a train brakeman had one as a daily driver. was around for 15 years. what a car. what a rocket you made there. good job. thanks

I'm not a big Mopar guy but your car looks bad and runs great for the second time out. All I can say is I love Garage Squad and the cars you bring back to live along with reason you guys have picked some candidate's. I am a Gearhead from the early 60's and street racing. Vietnam came along and I served as an infantry grunt. When I came home no body was street racing and America had changed. I said screw all this war crap and started racing my 64 vette with 454 big block at the drag strips but after five years it became to expensive. I still have the vette with an early LS 1 engine in it today and watch Garage Squad all the time. No getting around it Joe you are a good man!

Joe, I’ve got a 9 sec 1/4 mile car...supercharged. I’ve taken it down the track on a no prep surface and can’t get out of the high 10s. Even with with a double 0 light. So much boost off the line, the car gets squirrelly no matter what I do. I can’t imaging a car that traps twice my speed in the 1/8th and How “out of control” it feels. Good job putting power down first time out.
