Air guns have gotten really fancy. Yrs ago I had a .20 Sheridan. It was pretty basic by todays standard. I still had tons of fun with it.

Hi Ted, thanks for the great review. I was watching it again, to compare shotstrings with my Royale 400. The thing that got my attention, was your advice to fill to 230bar. The air bottle on the Royale 400 is rated at 200bar working pressure. I'm certain, that filling above that is reasonably safe, but then again, it's against the rating and should not be done. Oh, and I get 40 good shots per fill, starting at 200bar, ending 160bar, 42J, 4m/s extreme spread.

I bought mine in 2017 and it has a few slight differences from the 400 in this video. It is deadly accurate and has killed a gazillion squirrels in the 4 years I've owned it. My 400 delivers 32.54 ft-lbs of energy shooting H & N Sport Baracuda Match, 21.39 gr pellets at an average of 834.5 fps. I never fill mine past 220 bar. A head shot to a squirrel is devastating to the critter.

I love this.side cocking action! Much prefer it over the hw100. I like the 12 shot mag even though it does sit Alittle high, and the saftey is the beat I've used for hunting, silent operation

i like the other one more, because it's power is controlled by a computer thingie, and this one is a screw... but it's what fits you better!

Hey Ed, ummm what is your view on pcp air rifle VS the single pump (cock) air rifle. Right now I have a winchester 1000 sing pump air rifle, but you just make pcp look so smooth when it comes to shooting. Like pros and cons on these types of air rifles
