I went to the Pick-n-Pull and got the rear disc brakes off a 2002 S10 Blazer. Installed on my 1986 LS1 Swapped Monte Carlo SS. If I can do it you can do it.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO LS SWAP YOUR VEHICLE?

Enjoying your g body rear brake conversion, and your honesty when you blunder. I'm a life time auto tech, and when you're about to do something I know that is wrong, you can't hear me yelling "don't do that!", but you'd LOL if you see how animated I get. I have had full service repair shops and have done training, and I applaud you for taking on your projects. I see so many guys afraid to even change plugs. On that post you were in a j yard and offered to get the backing plates and calipers off of 2wd blazers. I'm in the Northeast upstate NY. For the most part knowone on this area buys 2wd, and all those are rusted and crushed up here. The rust you encountered is a cake walk here, it would be a pleasure to see "that little discoloration" on a part we del with on a regular basis. I'm converting my 65 Chevelle to rear disc. I have a 12 bolt in the rear now. I've determined that the G body conversion would work for my rear as I want get both calipers with brackets and axle plates with e brake hardware. I'll use the calipers for cores as I put the system together. P.S. get a double flare and ISO flare set, a manual one works well and is affordable, I use a hydrolic setup, but have used what I recommended. A single flare line will split is why it is not dot approved. When you start double and ISO bubble flaring, you will find it so satisfying. Let me know if you can get me the brake brackets and backing plates and calipers and hardware and your terms, you can email me if you have questions "rcjlapj@hotmail.com"

@@PENNYLS1 I did away with the e-brake but to make it work use the back half cables from the blazer and the cable from the front on the Monte Carlo there is a repair coupler so you can join the two cables together

Great video..priceless info…just for clarification…the front and back brakes came off the 98-04 blazer or s10? Also with the longer arp studs did you replace the lugs also? Thanks and again great video..
@PENNYLS1

The front brakes are off a C5 Corvette. Yes the rear are off a S10 2wd Blazer. With the longer studs I just got some open ended lug nuts.

@PENNYLS1
@PENNYLS1 2 ай бұрын
The brake setup would be the same for an El Camino as long as it has a 7.5 GM rear end. As for the gears, I’m no expert but I’m going with 3.73 gears with a tructrac posi unit.

Does the rear calibers and plates have to be off a two wheel or four wheel blazer?
@PENNYLS1

2WD from what I’m told. I think the 4WD drive has the calipers clocked different. It may work but I’m not sure.

Did you swap out your brake proportioning valve for one designed for discs? That is a key change you'll want to do. I swapped for a Ford 8.8 with discs but before I touched that I changed the proportioning valve.
