lyrics is genius. he makes so many word plays. My favorite part is that ahjumma poker part because a straight flush is the second best possible hand in poker and royal flush is the best hand. So he basically says, ''i heard u have a straight flush'' so u may think you're gonna win but i always have royal flush which will beat your straight flush.

big bang was one of those groups that was like a leviathan: whenever they moved the whole culture shifted and almost everybody else was left scrambling in their wake. tbh gd’s music is kinda hit or miss for me but when it hits it’s always, like, ‘play this incessantly on repeat over the next six months’ kind of impact. one thing that really made an impression on me about GD specifically was a thing i saw on a dramafever documentary. he was getting ready to greet some fans in the front row at a concert and he kinda had to steel himself because the second he reached for them, there were just a million hands grabbing at him. they showed the aftermath, GD had like three PA’s swabbing him all over with disinfectant because he had scratches everywhere. idk how the last seven years have changed him as an artist but it’s kinda crazy to think about going from that level of fame to… anything else. I’m curious to see if he’s still interested in shaping the culture and if he can pull it off if so. he’s been gone a long time.

I watched andyandjas' explanation of the korean lyrics and he's really such a genius lyricist. He apparently used a lot of wordplays and even used phrases from the old ways of how Koreans said things. Even the way he pronounced "born to be bang" was intentional to make it sound like BIGBANG. This song is also a criticism of how the media treated and mocked him last year for fake drug use allegations. That's why the lyrics repeatedly said "got all the receipts" since they did every type of drug test that could detect if he used drugs event months before and it all came out negative. He's mocking the media for pushing a narrative and the mindless netizens who chose to believe it without proof.
