the double meanings in the lyrics man GD is a pure genius!! kmedia and everyone tried to drag him down so many times but none succeeded. the wordplays in the lyrics can be interpreted in so many ways because it also reference to a lot of things. but here are some observations from X that i've also read about the lyrics: 1. Übermensch is a german word that describes a concept from philosophy that means a human that has outgrown himself or herself, that is no longer burdened by the sorrows of ordinary people. (like okay professor GD) 2. on the show YOO QUIZ, GD mentioned how him always being in the studio felt like he was on the TRUMAN SHOW. the POWER mv references this starting entering the studio GD has been confined in and ending with him freeing himself, just like the character in the movie 3. GD laughing at the end of his 4hr investigation (he laughed because they keep trying to accused him but because he got receipts and tested negative already a few times, it really was just a waste of time) then right after that investigation he donated millions to fight drug abuse 4. G-Dragon born on August 18, 1988, made a comeback after 88 months on the year of the dragon. This song was released at 18:00. Then if you noticed the metro map in the mv; there are 8 song titles written including power so i think the album will also have 8 songs in it. 5. in the newsroom table there is an eyeglass and it looks the same as the one he wore on the day of the investigation. HIS MIND IS JUST GENIUS!! KING OF KPOP INDEED!!

One more thing, his sound at the beginning from the left to right if you play on headphones loud enough. Then the song starts making you want to adjust the headphones. He means listen to yourself before listening to the song. Like it or not. It’s yours.

you're right about the translation not fully making sense because there is a lot of wordplay like A LOT of korean words that sound like english or have a different meaning in korea, he's a freaking genius, but after watching Andy and Jas's reaction video where they explained the meaning, i get it now, he's basically talking down to media that tried to bring him down

Not sure if you are aware of what happened to him last year. A club owner or someone was caught selling drugs and she told the police a couple names including GD. Media and Netizens were furious and going after him since he had the weed scandal 13 years ago. That was like the biggest news though the police didn’t have any evidence and everyone already assumed he did it. People questioned the way he talks and the way he walks. His name was tarnished so he showed up to the police station to do the all the drug tests to prove he’s innocent. And of course he didn’t do any drug and tested negative

Power abuse questioned tolerance natural disasters unavoidable circumstances. My interpretation: people abused their power during his scandal. They could have just kept quiet but ran with the tabloids because they had that power. The questioned tolerance to me is like he tolerated so much being said about him and just focused on proving himself innocent so much its like how could he do it? The natural diasters unavoidable circumstances i feel like could be seen as him coming back like a natural disaster. You can't do anything to stop a natural disaster. Hes back and cant nobody stop him. Its unavoidable. GD is the king of idols. Hes been my number one idol since i discovered kpop as a teen. ❤ But music can be interpreted in many ways and idk how the meaning behind his decision in those lyrics.

7:41 GD fused english and korean IDK how to explain this but he's doing a double meaning here Big is in Korean but it sounded english so if you connect it it sounded bigbang. An example from their song 'Fxxck it' lyrics went "Era moreugetda Girl, I wanna get down" sounds the same but different meaning

(mir) & (narsha) are two 2nd gen kpop idols, mir is from mblaq & narsha is from brown eyed girls. not sure what they have to do with that specific part of the song lol but shout out to 2nd gen! edit: just looked at some other translations and it seems like "mir" also means dragon in pure korean & "narsha" is in reference to the kdrama six flying dragons. i still think it's probably a double where he was also shouting out 2nd gen idols, since he had the "limited edition second generation" line before that.

​@@anthonytoo native korean words, words that aren't loanwords or derived from other languages. the typically used word for dragon is 용 (yong), which is from traditional chinese & 미르 (mir) is the native/pure korean word for dragon. it's like the pure korean 닭 (dalk) for chicken verses the english loanword 치킨 (chikin). also why did you give up on your korean lessons? 😞

["Laughing End 'Money' Donating 'millions' Grin"] is my favorite lyric from this song: "Laughing End" = When G-Dragon came out to the media after the four-hour police investigation for drug abuse, they asked him how it went to which he jokingly and confidently replied 'I laughed in the end'. "'Money' donating 'Millions'" = After the results came out negative for G-Dragon's drug tests, he donated millions of Won to an anti-drug organisation. And then with "Grin", GD laughs in the end. (itsANDYandJAS broke the lyrics down in their reaction, a lot of wordplays and expressions that only make sense if you speak Korean, as usual with GD).

The MV is about the way reality can be faked and lies spread. Lyrics look made up because they dont translate well from korean. Koreans made entire videos to explain because each word has more than one meaning. The U he is wearing is a reference to the philosophy of Nietzsche on what makes a superior man.
