@primate44 жыл бұрын
Feminism at its peak and very unrealistic! Anytime you mix men and women, you will have problems! Relationships will form, horniness takes over and then you have only a huge scandal going if you’re lucky! Realistically, it would detrimental. They would compromise missions, no doubt. If they want to be special ops, then they need to form an all women only unit and not mix them with men.
@a1298385524 жыл бұрын
But you need to be strong physically to be a navy tho
@tilghmanlwillis15614 жыл бұрын
@Tyger20 Yes that is true, but the simulation is already unrealistic. This is a real simulation in the SEAL training, but of course they can't actually beat the hell out of you and what this simulation is trying to do is to show that every SEAL is just a person and has limitations. In this training it is OK to give up a little info so you can survive in these environments. I get this is just a Hollywood film portraying a tough woman but Men and Women have limitations mentally and that is how you pass the test in this simulation. So technically she failed because she would've been killed.

i like that it actually has a female that has to earn respect, takes hits, get's bloody, and doesn't get everything handed to her just for being a girl. As unrealistic as the movie it... you look at movies now and think "wow, GI jane was actually a masterpiece in comparison" also don't worry about a sequel, daily wire will make 500 of them cause it seems like every movie they make is about a woman trapped somewhere and having to get all dirty to fight... not ragging on them but they NEED to stop making GI jane over and over in different sets :P

GI Jane was one hell of a good movie. I am an Army veteran, and, in my opinion, women didn't get the respect they deserved back in the 80's. I was an infantryman, and I didn't care what sex served with me so long as they could fight and I could trust them. Hoorah women!

Actually you missed the entire point as did most. The master chief was the only person in the movie that treated her equally. the guy in the cage that said "tell him something or I will" should have been instantly kicked out of the program and everyone turning their backs should have been punished. The master chiefs job (in the movie) is to teach them what its like to be captured and a woman would not be spared just because she is female...the entire team acted as if she was different, special and thus they are the ones that were not treating her as an equal.
@howardhuynh90404 жыл бұрын
@@r13hd22 Ah no, Master Chief did not see her as an equal. He stated it himself -- he wanted Jordan OUT of the program for fear that her presence would make the crew weaker and more vulnerable. The interrogation and torture scene in front of her men was meant to accentuate that point (which ultimately backfired when the men saw how tough and badass she was!). I think the only ones of her boat crew who initially didn't care about her gender and treated her equal were Wickwire (as team leader and head of the class), Flea (who she won over with empathy), Newberry (who followed her orders out of respect as she was a Lt.), and McCool (who sympathized with her situation because he's black -- e.g., recall the story he told her about his grandfather wanting to join the Navy).

I didn’t realize until years later that she kept her breast implants from “Striptease” (her previous film) which was a wise decision! Because it helped prove that even with all her strength training, physical physic, transforming her entire body, shaving her head, which accentuated her jawline, which ALSO changed more angular and broad like a man’s...(yeah she became so buff, it changed her facial structure!) All that badassary, but she also still had very large breasts-the most defining feature of a female, but despite how large or heavy they were, they DID NOT slow her down or weaken her in any way. I bet being thrown around with implants in her chest HURT LIKE HELL, though! 😖 (She later had them removed) And I’ll be honest-that was the most impressive, BEST-looking breast augmentation I have _ever_ seen in my entire life. lol They damn well BETTER be! This IS a real thing within the military. I'll be honest, I was an intel POG, but I knew guys who went through this training-- SERE-- Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape. It's a course that's required for everyone who wants to go for any recon, special forces, SEAL teams, etc. in any branch of the military. There's a lot more to the training than this (I am pretty sure this is the "Resistance" part). But they do really beat the shit out of people -- for real hardcore, it's no joke. After all it's a "voluntary" training course, because if you want to "volunteer" for any number of elite forces, you are required to pass SERE. I couldn't get a lot of details from the people who went through it bc it's close-hold, but from what I understand, the "training" takes people as close to the edge as possible. Basically, a part of the course is simply conditioning to learn how to handle maltreatment/torture/malnourishment, etc. There's a lot more to it than just that-- i.e. the Survival and Evasion and Escape parts, but it's serious hardcore shit from what I heard.

As a kid, I had NO CLUE why the military did shit like this to their troops. I thought it was just a sick game they were playing. They were showing her what it would and COULD really be like as a POW, and the kind of shit they’d do to her, (especially more depraved shit since she’s a woman) but she was insanely brave and tough. Master Chief knew this, he respected her and KNEW what a badass she was, and wanted the others to see it, too. He liberated her by beating the SHIT out of her, she defied him the entire time, showed no fear, and 5:58 he was so fucking proud of her. Damn, what a movie. When all the troops cheered and chanted “hooyah, hooyah, suck my dick!” I laughed and cried at the same time. Still gives me goosebumps.

Red eye, of course it’s only a movie. It was meant to be realistic (Demi Moore spoke of the movie later and said that actual Navy SEALS were brought in to train with them and shoot the movie, and that they actually DID modified versions of true SEAL drills), and while some of it seemed farfetched (as with all movies), it was an excellent story about a woman succeeding in an area where no woman has been allowed to participate before. For 19 years, I've been searching for this movie. Mistakenly thinking it was Jolie but no it's Demi Moore. It's her. I am SO Glad an article mentioned it because now I've put a name to a movie and memory. ❤❤❤

All he was doing was trying to make her stronger. As he did with the rest of the team. he wasn’t beating her like it was fun it was part of the training. Took me 10 years to figure this out. And I was 1 years old during this year The good days of the old school 90s

No, Master Chief wanted Jordan out of the program (he said so himself)! It's just that his plan backfired when Jordan showed her crew she was as tough and badass as any of them!

Oh no I was not justifying a woman getting beat hell no. So Demi I do support and love ya! And that is all really that it was nothing more than basic training. And I agree the badass amongst the men was Jordan.

This was a dope scene it shows men's inability to not put their protective instincts to help a woman away. He was right to do what he did. Put the mission first cus if she was a man they wouldn't bat an eye. Women shouldn't be in the military
