Ever since I started collecting GI JOE Classified figures, I have sold off all my 3.75 inch GI JOES. But I keep going back to this video for the memories.

Great video! It helped me complete my 25th anniversary collection. I love the card art on each of the figures. It reminds me of being that 8yr old boy in the toy isle.

Videopirate 74 Thanks, I totally agree that the card art is what got me to collect this set. It’s such a great feeling to complete the set as well. Congrats 👍

Thanks for sharing this video Lotus! What a great looking display! I know how hard it can be to display carded figures but you made it look so good and organized. One nice feature with G.I. Joe figures is that since they are so small there is a lot more room for some great artwork on the front. Keep on collecting! Joe

My Life In Collecting Thanks 👍. These 3 Billy bookcases are about 10 years old now and I wasn’t using the middle to bottom shelves for anything. The top 2 shelves are my Takara Dreamwave 00-21 Transformers Collection. All together the entire display looks nice having the Transformers Box art from that wonderful Dreamwave set and then followed by the carded GI Joe series. The shelves are setup from left to right with each shelf containing a wave of figures. Well thanks again for watching. It’s taken a while to complete this set. 👍

Wow Lotus, that's an impressive GIJoe 25th collection! You really makes me want to collect ALL of these now. I have certain figures in this series but They looks so good as a set. I need that Bazooka and Mutt Junkyard figure. I have that Matt Tracker and I want to crack him open one day haha! I also own a few Resolute figures out of packaging driving vehicles in my display. Come to think of it, having a loose set to play and a moc on display is wonderful.

aliasangelalias thanks, it seemed like a long journey to have a set. As I explained this is a complete set that you would hunt down at your local toy store. This set doesn’t include all the online Joe club figures. With that said, I’m very happy to have completed the set and the only thing I will change from time to time is the way I have them displayed. 👍
@aliasangelalias6 жыл бұрын
oh and how would you display them differently when it is mint on card? I can only think of changing their poses them if they are open.
@LotusStark6 жыл бұрын
aliasangelalias I won’t be opening the figures, but a display is more than just posing figures. My display now uses three Billy bookcases to neatly display each card back. Maybe the next display would be more like a store display with pegs and each peg would hold there or four cards. I don’t want to bunch them up too much. Maybe I can evenly space them so you can still see each figure. There are a lot of displays can create other than a typical thumbtack in a wall for MOC collections 👍

That’s an awesome looking set, Lotus. I love the original artwork on those cardbacks. So many great figures. I always loved the look of Storm Shadow. Having ninjas was such an 80’s thing. Thanks for sharing, brother. That was well worth the wait. Cheers M

Transformers and Video Games Thanks , yeah the funny thing is my cohost Jason from Open Your Toys Cast was talking about vintage card art. So that kicked off my GI Joe collecting. I found it to be harder than I thought to collect the set. As I explained in my prologue the first waves 1-7 were originally released on Foil cards, but then in 2008 they decided to also release the same figures on non foil and instead of the 25th logo in upper right corner they represented if it was comic , cartoon, Tiger force or Python Patrol. So I had to stop and make a decision which ones I want to collect. That is when I decided to collect the original release wave 1-7 on foil cards and continue on with wave 8 of the new style upper right corner logo. It was a challenge obtaining the original waves 1-7 on foil cards, but when I look at the collection now I’m glad i fought to find those instead of finding the reissues. I used 3 Billy Bookcases to span the figures across them. Just Looks awesome when you enter the room and instantly brings back Those nostalgic vibes. 👍

That Spirit is one of my favorite action figures ever. I always say accessories make the figure but this hits it out of the park on all fronts

countof3everybodyOD I agree, he is a figure that doesn’t need accessories to look complete. 👍

Awesome breakdown of everything and all the waves...👌🏼💯✔ I have a question though, how come this is the 25th anniversary, but just a few years later it became the 50th anniversary...🤔❓
@LotusStark4 жыл бұрын
25th was representing 1982-2007 figures. 50th represented from the beginning of Gijoe 1964 to 2014 when the 50th line came out. I had no interest in the 50th line as they were not replicating the original card art and figures like they did with the 25th line. I think if you’re looking to start a collection and like the old school card art I would stick with the 25th line as it’s as close to the Original design for real American hero. 👍

Great collection sir! I love the foil cards, nice and shiny. Which figures would you say are your favorites in this video? Like top 5? My top 5 would probably be snake eyes v2, storm shadow v1, CC battle armor, destro gold head, and maybe roadblock v1 or beachhead. Again great collection and thanks for sharing the video.
@LotusStark5 жыл бұрын
LordChadwick777 Thanks. Yeah my top 5 would be Storm shadow normal version, Cobra Battle armor, Zartan, B.A.T, Bazooka. There are really so many. Gung-Ho, The Dreadnoks , Croc Master. Man I just like them all. 😀. I still have them displayed the same as in the video. It just brings you back to a fun time in life when you saw a full isle of GI Joe Card and box art. Have a good one man👍

Why wouldn't they bring out the cobra twins?
@LotusStark4 жыл бұрын
Master Flight Major Agreed 100% please keep in mind that this set I have is the retail collection That was on store shelves at Toys R Us. At the same time the Gi Joe club online store was selling many more 25th anniversary figures through the club only. I’m pretty sure that the twins were only sold through the club store. 👍

Which one of these would you say is the rarest ?
@LotusStark5 жыл бұрын
Winchu Lu hi, I don’t think any of these figures are rare at this point. Maybe give it another 10 years. Having a sealed on card collection may be more rare than an open collection, not sure. For me I collected them for the card art. Just reminds me of when toy stores had them on the shelf. 👍
