This is the best looking domestic Cobra Commander I've seen. I'm still going to resist collecting this line. I don't have enough space for it. Cobra Commander's helmet is supposed to be for battle, and the cloth mask is casual wear. They should just fold and make the cloth mask Cobra Commander. Get some more use from the molds.

According to a former Hasbro employee who was in the meeting, during the time of the GI Joe movies, an executive mentioned to Hasbro that cobra commander’s hood was a bit “too racist” looking. Hasbro has not made a hooded CC since.

Hasblow was all in with DEI and thus were hyper vigilant with doing anything that could hurt the feelings of people who don’t buy their products. I’m sure their recent financial turmoil will rightly change their minds and we’ll finally get a hooded version

Yeah, the "hair dryer" pistol is classic, as is the back holster (though it just plugged in to the back of the vintage figure). I would have preferred the pistol to be a tad larger, though. It's nearly the same size as the vintage one.

The "weird" backpack is how it was on the ARAH version back in the 80's. Instead of a holster it was a friction fit spot on his back for the so-called hairdryer gun.

Speaking as a long time Joe collector and someone who has WAY to many CC, the only really great thing about this figure is the chrome face. It’s not a first but it is rare. I still think the best CC is the ultimate 4 inch one from the Retaliation line, that one dude a unique sculpt on his outfit, had a chrome faceplate and they redid his signature gun with a much better sculpt.

For the Classified line, Hasbro has stated they know fans want a hooded mask Cobra Commander but "for political reasons" they can't do it yet. To me it always looked more like an executioners mask than the other mask they're referencing to. I believe the last time we got a hooded mask was with the 25th anniversary line 15 years ago.

Mine also had the off center white stripe. Sad to see it’s a common issue apparently. I’d say Chrome CC is my favorite, but the hooded is great too. I don’t think they’ve done a hooded one in a long time since there’s some fear of sensitivity to it on Hasbro’s part, but I’m probably gonna grab a custom hooded head to throw on the original CC Classified release now that I have this figure. Great review!

I like the overall look but agree about the shoulders being too small and low, and the leg proportions being iffy. I also don't like the dull (we didn't use enough coats of paint) red. The vac metal helmet is very well done. I probably prefer this helmeted look but his cloth hood looks good too. Helmet for battle. Hood for relaxing on Cobra Island.😀

Both elbows for some reason on mine were incredibly stiff. I had to stick an xacto blade in where both sides of the joints meet the bicep areas and the forearms to separate it a bit and put silicone shock oil and even then they wouldn’t move easily without force

Okay so I've become somewhat of a Joe fan because of this line and watching reruns of the Sunbow cartoon on The Hub back then and on KZbin (One of the best things Hasbro did was put the entire series online) so I got a couple of remarks: The backpack thing is a callback to the original figure, but the helmet is a little different and seems more inspired by the cartoon, the OG toy didn't have the stripe on top of the helmet. When Super7 did their CoCo based on the show, they threw in the toy head as an accessory. I'm personally a fan of the chrome dome look, but I remember someone at Hasbro saying the hood was a no-no now because of something relating to a certain hate group IRL that also wore hoods. I personally hope someone has a change of heart at Hasbro to come out with one anyway, even if it's a Haslab. As far as the card art, I don't know if it's totally new or it was reused from the vintage card, but at any rate I wouldn't personally use it as reference compared to the cartoon/toy, I think aesthetically it's great, especially that vac metal mask. Kinda wish they did it with the retro Destro.

I really wanted to love this one but man the red paint bits are so dark and muddy, the cobra logo should have been better looking. I'm still on the fence, I have the 3/34 version like this one so that could be enough for me.

I dont get to see you do classified very often. So this was cool. I like this figure. But i compare more to original toys than box art. So it's pretty close. If he the classified of the year? No.....Airborne and a few others are fighting over that. But I liked this way more than the once-a-man cobra commander. But at least more effort goes into classified than Legends. Much much more. But for a classic 80's looking Cobra Commander, I'm pretty happy. I know the gun is silly. But it's accurate to the original toys gun in the 80's, as for the hood. Well, that's not happening because of some movie director stating it looks KKK. Now Hasbro won't do it.

No there is no classified Hooded Cobra Commander because some movie producer thinks he looks like he's in the klan, White and Blue being so similar I mean there practically the same color. Hasbro was the source material for the comic books and cartoons. The comics and cartoons were pretty much ads for the toy line. Between the card art and figure, the figure is more accurate. The card art on the Classified Retro card is updated and is not the same as the one back in the day.

I stopped collecting Classified but I had to pick up this retro version, best version so far, even better than the Haslab overrated Mickey Mouse version. oh man I didn't even know about the stripe not being centered!!! that will drive me nuts too, I'll have to check mine. the pistol on the back is how the vintage version was, and that's the same style pistol as the vintage version. Hasbro won't make the Hooded CC because they're idiots.

Yo, I didn't know Marvel Legends made a Cobra Commander. I swear, all of Hasbro's figures have the same problems. Wrong shoulder placement, bad proportions, no extra paint, terrible paint application, ugly joints. Classifieds come with lots of accessories, but that doesn't improve the actual figure.
