A known problem with aging GI Joe: Real American Hero figures is that after many years and a lot of play, the rubber O-rings that hold them together dry out and break, or just become stretched too far so that the toy's limbs become limp and ragdoll-like.
In this video, I show you how to fix all that and make it like new again.

Excellent video. Do you recommend different size o-rings for 6 inch figures? I have some Cops-n-Crooks figures with loose O-rings and wasn’t sure if size matters. Thanks

Man this is awesome. Our G.I. Joe's were relegated to the paratrooper regiment once their limbs started failing. Kinda opposite from real life. What did the paratroopers too? They were daredevils. They put their arms through plastic bag handles and jumped off terraces. The plastic bags failed sometimes. They're remarkably resilient to 4th floor drops....

And this is why they are valuable on the collectors markets today. because when we were kids, we intentionally destroyed them. I can't count how many stories I've heard of kids taping firecrackers to their GI Joes and blowing them up. Buying a surviving, undamaged figure can be expensive. That's why I look for the broken ones that no one wants, and just repair them.

@@R3troZone Haha I can imagine. The firecracker thing reminded me of our He-Man action figure taped to one of those firecrackers that shoots across on a line. We tried finding the Superman action figure, but as usual, couldn't find it when we needed it. He-Man learnt how to fly pretty quick. He flew so quick in fact, that both his shoes melted from air drag (yes it was air drag, he went supersonic, I stand by this statement). :P

Great video, when I do this, the head loosens afterwards and moves like a bobble head. Can that be fixed?

Usually when that happens to me it's because the head either isn't seated perfectly in the chest piece or I need to tighten the screw a couple turns more. Be careful you don't over tighten it however because it could crack the body.

Can you tell me the size of the o ring and screw you used?

I bought a bag of them off eBay. There was no size listed and I don't have a micrometer to measure them.
