Drill it out with a reverse bit. There are many methods but this one works best for me.

Awesome... how I've always done mine. I did have one where the screw was rather poor and I had to drill all the way in and use a metal pick to get the small bits of metal left in the threads of the plastic. Slow and easy as not to heat it up just like you said!!

Thankfully I've never had one that bad. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to do that Voodoo that you do.

@@CracktasticPlastic lol There wasn't a lot of patience... I was still in my 20s so my hands were steady enough then. But i just drilled into the screw and stopped every 15 seconds or so ... a few minutes later I was picking metal out of the plastic screw thread area.

Have you ever tried using an extractor bit for stripped screws? I’m curious, what kind of bits can you use for the Joes?

This was not a stupid video quite informative . Okay one question is that is a Bauer Harbor frieght drill is it a hammer drill or standard ? I actually have three for doing woodworking one for pilot one for drilling and one for screwing in the screw they make a great drill .
@CracktasticPlastic2 жыл бұрын
It is a Bauer hammer drill. Good catch. Before I retired I had a really expensive DeWalt drill I used at work and I can't honestly tell the difference in performance.

@@CracktasticPlastic well personally I like the Bauer between the two Bauer is really a better buy

Would this method work on a leg

Very useful video! I just screwed in, the top fell off and I could easily take the body apart. However the rest of the srew is still stuck at the front of the body. Just can't get it out. By any chance do you have any trick to get that out too? Or should I just try to drill the whole thing like voodoo did, if I read it right how he did it. (another commenter here) Thanks in advance, if you see this!

Sorry it took me so long to get to this. Hopefully you've figured it out. If not, the only thing I've ever needed was needle nose pliers to twist it out. I'd recommend trying some Kroil. It's amazing. Soak it overnight. It'll probably come right out.

@@CracktasticPlastic Hi! I kinda gave up on it, as I was way too afraid to drill the whole screw. I didn't want to damage my guy. I'm very thankful for your reply. I will definitly try the kroil. Thanky you again!

You have to use a left hand bit?
@CracktasticPlastic2 жыл бұрын
It's definitely not required. I only recommend it because there's no chance of the screw getting any tighter and always a slight chance it's help back it out. I always use a 1/8" bit though.
