I reckon G&L are both looking down & beaming their approval on this bass. It looks beautiful, great work everyone involved :-)

Wow, you guys, this is a most thorough demo of this bass guitar...I mean you cover various applications, finger style, and even picking techniques, even show how two different types of flat wound strings effect these guitars...I'm a guitar player, but have been in situations, like way back in high school where I ended up in a position of playing bass for a high school vocal group ( it was an actual credited class...wow, now that I think about it, we really had a cool high school). Thanks for this video...I really hope you guys are around for a really long time...

Do that same bass as a bass VI and I’ll love you forever!

Dude! If they don't I would mod it myself! Thank you for giving me another reason to want this bass guitar

Libra Serpiente Wouldn’t this just kill as a baritone/ VI? If they come out with a tribute I’m gonna do it!

What a cool entry into the short scale world. Hoping fretless is an option.

That's a really cool bass! I really dig all of the aesthetic choices and I think it sounds as good as it looks, if not better. It's really cool to see so much obvious care and attention to detail go into these instruments. I'm really curious about the guitar in the natural finish, to the right of the really pretty cavalier, at the beginning of the video though.

But what does the green one sound like? (LOL) It might have been nice to hear a quick example with some distortion. But this is really a cool bass. Guess that's another on my list. Sigh, so little money, so many guitars. Oh and what does OMG mode do?

Looks and sounds killer, but one reviewer had the weight at 10.6 lbs?! @G&L Guitars, can you provide some details?

Great demo and insanely nice basses. The video & audeo quality were pretty disappointing. I'm also hoping for a tribute version, but more importantly... MAPLE fretboards please?

Rolling off the tone on this doesn't seem to squash note definition much as can be the unfortunate case on some of my basses. Going through some good equipment on this recording.

Can barely hear the bass. The voice is way louder tha the instrument.

Dude is an awesome player but sets his action way too low. Always so much buzzing! And he has a light touch too so it must be like under 4/64ths. I like low action on bass but damn!
@CulDorcha14 жыл бұрын
Listen to isolated bass track of “digital man” by rush. So much buzz, but when you hear the bass in context of the music it is fantastic. I agree that it’s annoying to hear by itself, but can be the magic touch in a rock band!
@YourFavouriteColor4 жыл бұрын
@@CulDorcha1 yeah but Getty Lee SLAMS on that thing so getting that telltale rattle is expected. This guy has a smooth modern touch. In this style of playing, the sustained notes getting that "sitar" effect after the note sustains isn't that pleasant gritty rattle you're referring to IMO.
@FrankMRauck4 жыл бұрын
Thought the same thing.....the low action took away from the demo....would like to hear clear ringing tones. I don’t know...maybe it’s a thing these days. If you listen to Sterling Ball demoing his latest offerings, they’re buzzing like a beehive and he’s like, “see how great they sound”.
@CulDorcha14 жыл бұрын
Right on. I just think if the exact same demo was done with a drum loop or a track behind it, we probably wouldn’t be annoyed by the buzz.
@YourFavouriteColor4 жыл бұрын
@@CulDorcha1 what bugs me is like, I'm a bass player and my action is pretty low. 4.5/64th bass side, 4/64ths treble side. beck relief about .011". that's about as straight and low as you can get(assuming the frets are level) avoiding buzz with a light touch. that's LOW for a bass. this guy and other modern bass demos with the same problem must have it set even lower than that. g&l's recommended settings are too high with too much relief imo but I. sure they're trying to accommodate pick players and rock players as well as more modern fast players. anyway, bring those saddles up a smidge, dude! ;)

1500€ for this ... Really ? With such a budget, they could have put a lightweight basswood (or swamp Ash) body with black/walnut open pore finish, a bridge with string through body design, quartersawn Maple neck/fingerboard and some real preamp... Considering what you are actually getting, this instrument is way too expansive, jeeeezzzz 🙄
